Is there any way to create a plugin that would allow people to post an image that, when clicked, would reveal a different image?
Thanks!

What do you mean by "reveal"? Do you want the image itself to be replaced by the new image? or for the new image to appear under or next to the original? This also depend where you want this image reveal to occur. There is a neat trick you can do in your thread posts for making an image appear under another after it is clicked! First install the Spoiler Tags plugin. I know it's not directly what you are looking for, but bare with me. There is a very cool thing about this plugin that will help. Change it's CSS to whatever or leave it as nothing. You can play with this later to get the look you want. Now the cool part about this plugin! If you use it's button it is hard to tell exactly what is going on in the BBCode, even if you switch to that view. The BBCode section of making a new post will not show the true code this plugin is making. But you can still input the code as it really is to get the same effect. I am not sure how to explain it so I'll just show you what to put in your posts. [spoiler]{SPOILER TITLE} spoiler content [/spoiler] Does not look like what you want still. However, the SPOILER TITLE can be whatever you want! Including an image! What this means is that you can have an image be your spoiler title, and then have another be in the content! This will create the appearance of an image being clicked to reveal another under it. There might be a way to play with the CSS of the spoiler plugin to get the new image to overlay the original if that is what you are looking for. You might be able to do so by making the Title CSS be set to position: relative; and the Spoiler Body CSS to position: absolute; You can see more on how to do that here www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_css_image_overlay.aspThere is other effects and stuff included in their code, but don't worry about all that. Just play with the CSS of the spoiler plugin till it looks and acts how you want. If you were referring to non post images I'm sure you can do something similar with the CSS. If you need help with it let me know and I'll be happy to play around with it and let you know what to do! Just ping me with exactly what you want to happen and where. Hope this helps c:

If you use version 1.4.6, you don't need to add the image tags. Just use the image URL as the spoiler title.

Yes -- that would be a perfect solution! Thanks for getting what I meant. And thank you to Todge , because I had the old spoiler plugin. The new one is now installed. The problem is that I can't get Harp's solution to work. I have tried it in two browsers. I have tried it with image tags and no image tags. The closest it comes to working is with no image tags, but then the title comes out as a tiny thumbnail, with the body image url showing beneath the thumbnail -- no spoiler action at all. Edited to say that the fade-in overlay would also be an excellent solution, probably even better. My problem is I don't know where to put the css codes.

nowdockingThe Spoiler Styling tag in the plugin's manager might be what you are looking for. There you can edit the size and style of bother the Title and Spoiler content. I am not sure why the spoiler would be acting like that. Can you post what you are putting in the BBCode editor of the posts?

The spoiler tags are set to have a maximum image width of 100px. That can be changed in your forum's CSS. But I'm more interested in the fact that the spoiler is not working.. If you use image tags within the title, the image should be displayed full size, rather than as a thumbnail.

Todge, one odd thing about the Spoiler button is that it takes several seconds to appear in the button array after the Reply box is opened. I moved it to the top of the plugin list but that didn't make any difference. Just tried again in Opera and in Explorer. What I am getting is no image for a title, just a string of bbc that when clicked shows the picture in the body. That is with using image tags in the title and in the body. If I put image tags in the title and no image tags in the body, I get no pictures at all. The thumbnail thing has not happened again. -- ? --

You will need the image tags in the spoiler body, otherwise you will get a link. In the spoiler title, if you include image tags, the image should be displayed full size, if you only use the image URL, then you should get the thumbnail. Make sure you only have one version of the plugin installed, and that it is version 1.4.6.

Todge, I double checked that there is only one version of the Spoiler plugin installed and that version is 1.4.6. I have tried it repeatedly, using the provided image codes and the old, plainer codes as were used in V4. I've also tried using Flickr's "Share" code. The result is the same in all those cases: A line of code shows where the Spoiler title should be. If I click that code, the picture in the body is revealed. As far the body goes, the picture shows up and shows as full size whether or not I use image tags. This is the forum url: anyportinastorm.proboards.com/

Do you have a guest friendly thread where I can do a little testing? I will need to post to see what the code is doing.

It seems the thumbnail version works, but not the full size one... Do you have anything in your censored words list? A plugin could be made to do that within posts, yes. It's beyond the realms of the Spoiler plugin though.

Censored words list has the word s p o i l e r replaced by s p o i l e r=s p o i l e r (<-- but written without spaces). Todge wrote: A plugin could be made to do that within posts, yes. It's beyond the realms of the Spoiler plugin though. Should I put in a separate request for that, or leave it here since this OP was not specifically about the Spoiler plugin?
