Impossible? No. If the user has more than 1 tab opened on your forum, collects items on the 2nd tab, goes back to the 1st tab later, then clicks the item there - this is stale data that they are now putting into the key.

Make sure your members realize the following:

1. Do NOT use the back button;
2. Do NOT open another tab when there's a collectible on the first tab - unless they collect the item first;
3. Don't let items sit on the screen. Have them collect them as soon as they see them.

Remember, the leaderboard uses a super forum key, which is essentially a global key for the forum. There are many users who access that key, but it can only write one set of data at a time. This is more true the more active the forum is. Do keep in mind, however, that user's mini-profiles ALWAYS has the correct count - because that data is saved to a USER key - so only that user is writing to it.

At this time, no. The minimum of 1 is hard-coded.

EDIT: I'll add a Minimum Find option to my ever-growing request list. Please bear in mind, however, that:

1 - it probably won't happen until after V6 is launched; and
2 - there's no guarantee on when it gets added - as there are other options that have been requested before this.

Sorry if this has been previously mentioned, I've looked through past posts but didn't see.

Is there a way to change the title of the scavenger hunt, both in a members profile and on the custom page where it says "clear scavenger hunt data" in one's profile to just "clear leaderboard score" and on the custom page when you start collecting, it comes up as "Scavenger hunt Leaderboard" - I'd like it to just read the name of our collection game.





For example, if it's spring we do flowers, for summer its butterflies and bees, halloween and then xmas collection games - so I'd like the option to name it appropriate to the collection.

Right now, no. Both are hard-coded. I can see about adding an option for the leaderboard page's title bar, but I probably won't change the button. The reason for that is because that button doesn't just clear their leaderboard entry, it also clears their current count (as shown on the mini-profile) - so the button name has to reflect that more than just the leaderboard data is getting cleared, as it clears that user's entire count.

I don't know how to disable it, but you want at least one person to have access to it. Often when you first start the game there are forum members who show a null value on the leaderboard. When that happens they can't collect any more points until you clear that null.

Thanks for the reply. We don't use the leader board function and there hasn't been an issue with the correct number showing on the member's profile. I have a work around for now but was just curious thanks!

Not by option, no. At this point in time, I'd probably have to come up with some JS to remove it afterwards.

It would probably take some JS code to disable it after it loads, as there's currently no option to do that. I'm still working on that null error when I have time. Problem is, I haven't had much free time lately.

Honestly, if you're not going to use the leaderboard, you should probably drop back to Version 0.2.1 - which is the latest version BEFORE the leaderboard was implemented. If you're not using the leaderboard, and using Version 1.0.0 or higher, then you're just basically wasting a super key slot.

Firstly, I absolutely love this plugin! Many hats off to David and Lynx for creating and maintaining something so terrifically brilliant — Bravo!

I’ve read though most of the 30 pages in this thread, but I still have a question about compatibility. I have this plugin installed on my sample forum to test plugins, themes, etc. But on my main forum, I have the Awards plugin. (If I add Awards to the sample forum, I’ll need to purchase a super key, so I can’t readily test the placement of the awards and the treat bag.) Will the Scavenger Hunt interfere with Awards? The location of the treat bag is where awards currently reside. Will the bag be placed above the awards? Or below?

One other question I forgot to ask. It’s a totally different issue. Have other users of this plugin run independent scavenger hunt contests? And if so, did they retain separate data for each contest on the leaderboard, so the leaderboard provides a history of winners / results?

Thank you for the compliment! I don't know in regards to the placement, as my forum is so small we don't use the Awards plugin. If you link the library listing for it, though, I'll put it on my test forum and I can see how the placements are.

EDIT: I installed the Awards plugin on my test forum. On a vanilla theme, the awards are placed below he Scavenger Hunt bag and count. Note that this could be different on a customized theme.

No - the leaderboard can only handle the current event only. You would need to manually record the results before clearing the data if you want a record of it.
