I messed up my Banner. Need help fast

I have no idea how or why this happened.  Haven't even worked in the banner area.  

You can look at it here to see what it should look like on my Theme making board:  skinscastle.freeforums.net/

And look here on my main board to see what happened to it.  I hope you can tell me what went wrong and how to fix it.  I changed the banner out and it did the same thing.

Everythin in there is suddenly smaller.  I was simply making a post when something happened.  Check out this screen shot.

I can't see any difference between skinscastle and ourfantasycastle. Did you fix it or am I just missing what you are talking about?

Hi Tumbleweed.  You seem to be my Guardian Angel Here.  I wish I could say it is fixed, but no it is not.  Di you just look at the screen shot?  Or at the actual sites?   May not be obvious on screen shot if you have not seen it for real.

Notice that the height and width of the banner do not span the full area of the green background. It is about an inch shortg on either end.

Height is about 6 1/2 iches and width is about 17 inches and nome of the green background is showing

The do look the same on both of your sites and yes I looked at both. I took a look at your banner and your image is 1600px in width, 600px in height and your banner area is only 1146px by 600px. (I'm not sure why it is that width though because you have 80% set for the wrapper width. Anyway, so the sides are cut off. What you could do is add this to the bottom of your style sheet:

background-repeat:no-repeat;
-webkit-background-size: contain;
-moz-background-size: contain;
-o-background-size: contain;
background-size: contain;
}

That will shrink your banner to fit the width you have set but since it resizes it proportionately, the height will need adjusted, it looks like to about 430px. Another option is just to resize the image to the 1146 width  and then just set your wrapper to that width.

WOW!!  I looked again this morning and took new screen shots.  I do not understand why we do not see the same thing.  The one on SkinsCastle still looks perfect.  It only changed on my main board.  

I arrived at my sizes by making small changes, uploading and trying again and again until the fit seemed perfect,  I just don't understand why it changed on my main board....and why we see the one differently on my skins board.

I'm not sure why I was seeing the same thing on both but maybe it is my browser or my screen resolution? Or it could be I just missed what you were trying to point out but I stared at them over and over again and didn't see a difference.  (I use Chrome and my screen res width is 1366 so not sure if that might play a role).  But your new screen shots show clearly what you are seeing. My thought before was maybe you inadvertently put a different size banner in your main site but you said you changed the banner and same thing. 

Seems you have your Thanksgiving theme up so I guess taking a second look today won't happen. Sorry I couldn't pin point what it was/is.

I am totally and completely baffled by whatever is happeing at ourfantasycastle.freeforums.net/
Please look at the above testarea and see how my template looks there.  Width of all my templates are set at 85%.  Banner pictures are all the same height and width.  The bannerrs always are the same width as the bars across the board.  When made, they all end in the same place.

On sites away from ourfantasycastle.freeforums.net/, they have all remained as they were designed.  Here is a screen shot of the skin I call Ultra Violet.  You will see banner and bars are all the same width, as they should be.


Something has happened at my main board, ourfantasycastle.freeforums.net/   It started yesterday afternoon with my default favorite skin.  Screen shots above. 

Today I applied a skin that I used during Canada Thanksgiving, which was October 9th.  The skin was great then.  Banner and bars were all the same width.  When I applied it today for the coming American Thanksgiving, something had caused a change.  Here is what it looks like now.  

What's happening guys.  I have not made these changes,

The reason I was thinking this was you said you were only posting when it happened and I do think you can change that on your mouse but I don't remember how.  Actually, just remembered. You'd have to have held the control key down while scrolling with the mouse but that could have happened by mistake?

FWIW, I'm seeing what Tumbleweed is seeing. The banner aligns with the bars and buttons.

Oh My Goodness!!  Thank you both.  I would have thought everything would increase/decrease at the same percentage rate.  I don't know how it got there but I was set at 90%.  Yes, Tumbleweed, it would have been by accident.  If I change it intentionally for some reason, I usually remember to change it back.  I just knew I made a post and everything suddenly changed.  I'm a happy camper this morning.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Veteran,  I just grabbed a peek at your site.  It is exquisit.  I think it is the most elaborate I have seen here at proboards.  Absolutely beautiful job on that theme.

I had 89 themes before Photobucket changed their policy and ruined everything. So rather than trying to fix all of them, I decided to start all over and build new ones. I'll not be making 89 more, but I've got about a dozen now. I won't do too many more since they'll all need to be changed once v6 hits.

And I liked your site when I checked out your banner. It's lovely, too.

I have made about 9 themes/skins since I came to proboards on june 2, 2017.  I had no idea how to make a skin here.  Where I came from, it was a whole different world in skin making and all the skins I had made there would not work here at Proboards.  LOL!!  I still get in trouble making skins, but with the help of ProBoards support team, I can at least make a skin that reflects who we are.  The support here is fantastic.

PhotoBucket dealt a big blow to a lot of people, including me and all of my members.  When PB hit us all so hard was when I was trying to get set up here at ProBoards.  Sure doubled our workload in an unplanned manner, but we survived and got past it.   

This will be my third hosting site for the Castle.  I started out iwith MSN in year 2000.  News of MSN's closing sent me in search of a new home.  In october 2008, we moved to Yuku groups.  We had a few good years there, but they ceased to be in early 2017, which sent us on the road again in search of a new kingdom.  We did not land here by accident.  It was the superior Customer Support that brought us here.  I never again wish to make such a move.  I am very happy here.

Thank you for liking my site.  It does not compare to yours, but it's a good reflection of who we are.

You are a long-lived community and to be commended. It's not easy moving from one place to another. But you've done so beautifully. You've learned a lot in a short time here. You transitioned well. Kudos for that. And yes, let's hope the third time's the charm and ProBoards' will be your forever home. 

It also says a lot about your community that they wanted to find new places so you all could remain together. What greater compliment could there be for a forum's creator?

Thank you, Veteran.  My heart is certainly in it.  I have loved Our Fantasy Castle for a long, long time.  Your words of praise are music to my ears.  I love fantasy and this is where I can indulge in it, along with others who have that same love of fantasy.  It is a beautiful world we live in.
