I have seen a few threads where people have inadvertently deleted a category, board, thread, post, etc.
Might it be possible to include in v6 the ability to un-delete something within a timed window? Say 5 minutes.

Hi,
Due to the extreme restrictions laws like GDPR place on us regarding deleted user content it is extremely unlikely we will ever be able to implement a feature like this in the future.

Say 5 minutes. Just adding my 2¢ in here, While this is labeled a Feature Request, there are already built in safeguards. Such as for board deletions there's a popup window where you not only have to type in the word delete, but also click on an acknowledgement statement that the delete is unrecoverable. Plus in that window it lists the board name along with the number of threads and posts affected. It's not easy to inadvertently delete a board. However in addition to those safeguards, our Help Guide article on Preventing Forum Content Deletion offers some additional steps an admin can take to protect their content from accidental (or maliciously purposeful) deletion.

This would apply even to the person that did the inadvertent delete? I was not suggesting it to be a global admin function. Only the person that did the delete could un-delete it. I understand we have many well-intentioned laws that have ridiculous side affects. This sounds like it may be one of them.

The problem would be that you would be restoring content that isn't yours. Most likely you would need the consent of every person who contributed content to the deleted section. Some of those users might not even be active members anymore.
Since the reality of the situation is that we would have no way for you to verify and get consent from all of those people it just simply isn't a feature that is going to happen.

If, indeed, you are the person who "did the delete", I'm wondering why you would expect ProBoards to be responsible for your failure to pay attention to the safeguards already in place. Those safeguards give every opportunity to abort the action if it isn't the action you wish to perform. However, it does require you to pay attention to what you're doing. If you don't do that it's your responsibility and ProBoards should not be expected to correct your negligent error, in my opinion.
