Bots on Shoutout Box.

This is a feature request.  

So, Discord has a feature known as bots, which are coded to make the experience better. They can respond to commands, make games, moderate, etc. 

So, ProBoards has Themes and Plugins. What if we also had Bots? People can code it using JavaScript, and submit it to the Bots Library. Once you download it, the bot gets invited to your shoutout box!

(Example: 

Me: t!vote

Bot: Template is "t!vote start/stop [choice 1 | choice 2 | etc.])


Maybe this could be for v6! Anyway, I'd really love to see this feature come!

I'm having trouble imagining exactly what someone would really use this for. I'd have to see it being used somewhere, I guess, to "get it".

the t!vote function is from tatsumaki, a popular discord bot. it allows you to poll members in your chat, prune the chat log, and request the local weather, and a bunch of other things to make the chat more engaging. (tatsumaki in particular also lets you refer to anime series with a command which brings info about the series into the chat).

Thanks, Kami. I don't even use a shoutbox on my forum so I was really unsure of exactly what it did.
