Hi Team,
I am using tapatalk app to view the proboards. In my "unread" feed messages are not disappearing and my unread is now full with messages i have seen. I contacted tapatalk support, they asked for a test account to be set up to see could they recreate the issue. i do not have access to setup accounts. they advised me to reach out here to see has this issue been seen before and how it can be resolved.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Claire

Have you tried marking them as read? If you go to the settings (the three dots top right) you can mark as read & they'll clear.

Are you using the free version or Tapatalk pro? I'm using pro as the freebie drove me nuts with ads and I think this was another bug I found. But mark read works fine for me

Same issue here actually. I have been in contact with Tapatalk and it sounds like the issue resides with ProBoards. They said they were coordinating with them but I haven’t heard anything in about three weeks. The below is the latest I have from the Tapatalk support folks:
We are coordinating with proboards on the fix of this problem. The Tapatalk plugin is managed on the proboards' end. We'll need their assistance to find the cause and have it resolved.

Circling back on this for the support people here at ProBoards. I have the email addresses of the support people at Tapatalk working on this issue. If they haven't been in touch with you all, I'd be happy to pass their contact info over.
For what it's worth, the read/unread bug issue is rather frustrating. It's the primary means by which most of the people on our board access the site. I know a fix would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, cdutch. As far as I can tell the thread remains unread until you've viewed all of the posts within it. Opening an unread thread and tapping the double arrows to scroll down to the last post, then going back and refreshing the unread threads removes them completely from my unread list, versus just viewing the first few posts which causes the thread to remain.

I don't believe that is the issue. There are instances where I am confident that there is only one unread message and it remains in the unread column in Tapatalk. Only after viewing it on the website directly will it clear. I have also tried the up/down arrows as you suggested and that hasn't cleared the unread notification either.
If it's helpful, this is a private message board with less than 100 members. The volume of posts obviously isn't massive. We can go hours without a new post and many people ready every message and still have the unread/read issue discussed here.
Lastly there are other message boards that I read where I know I haven't read every message in the thread but it clears from the unread field after viewing it once.
Sorry for any hassle but I figured the detail would be helpful for you.

I'm unable to duplicate this on my own device. My post was a description of my own results within the Tapatalk app.
A forum URL would be required for me to test this on your forum. On the desktop version of ProBoards Support you can provide a URL privately via the link at the top of the thread above the action bar.

Thanks for the PM, cdutch. I registered an account on your forum and as far as I can tell it behaves as I've described. The only difference is most of my tests on my own forum were done in threads containing 1 or 2 pages. On your forum there are threads with dozens to hundreds of pages. Apparently the deal is you have to read every page of the thread before it's considered read. Another thing I noticed is every time I opened a single thread again it would open at the next page, and so on until reaching the end of the thread. This would support my observations as I've indeed read every response up until the point the thread leaves me off at upon next opening it.

Yes, we do keep threads in the form of topics to keep things organized.
I guess what I'll say is that I never have this issue with other message boards in Tapatalk. It's unique to just the ProBoards message board. For example, I have AVS Forum synced up in Tapatalk, certainly haven't read every message in a thread yet after I select the message, it tags as read and is removed from the Unread column.
For what it's worth, the Tapatalk support people have pinpointed the issue to the ProBoards plugin. They're seeing something and supposedly reached out but perhaps they didn't.

It's likely programmed on our end to behave exactly like the "new" icon next to a thread title on the desktop version of the forum which takes you to the first unread post in the thread but doesn't mark it as read until reaching the end of the thread.
I unfortunately don't have enough knowledge of the backend of the software to determine if this is actually the case as I work exclusively providing tech support for the user side of ProBoards.

This is actually exactly what I'm trying to figure out. Lets say there are 10 unread posts, I open it, read through all 10, and it still shows as unread...shouldn't it then remove from the unread posts section of the Tapatalk app?

Yes, and it does just that based on my tests on your forum given that you refresh your unread posts. I've PMed you a screenshot showing a before and after, where the middle thread out of the three originally visible is no longer listed.
