Your forum's URL has no bearing on your ad-free status. There is no need to change it if all you want is to browse ProBoards ad-free.

Your forum's URL has no bearing on your ad-free status. There is no need to change it if all you want is to browse ProBoards ad-free..... i mean if i will subscribe for an addfree it wil subscribe me as curent web page, but when i will change the name in http line, the subscription will not be active for the new name, m i right?

Thank you Brian Ordonez for your answer. What i would like to do that is to change the name of the forum, it will cost me 9,99 (it's USD? i guess ) plus i wont to get rid of this addbar (nothing personal )

If you want to change the URL of the forum that appears in the address bar (nlou.proboards.com) that will cost $9.99 USD. If you just want to change the forum's title that shows at the top of the page you can do that in Settings > Forum Settings.

The $2.99 ad-free payment grants you ProBoards+, a service that gives ad-free to your global account. With PB+ you won't see any of the ProBoards banner ads regardless of which ProBoards forum you visit. However, anyone else who visits your forum is still going to see ads on it since PB+ only applies to your account.

tchu-tcha, FYI, you can also remove the $2.99 banner by turning off your ad blocker (or whitelisting the forum). Although you will see ads on forums that are not ad-free.

Purchasing the ProBoards+ removes that banner and the ads for you, as Brian stated above.

I'm not sure about the rest of it but that name won't be possible.  If you try, you'll get an error message:

Name must have only letters, numbers, or dashes

Also, characters entered as CAPS will be accepted but URLs are not displayed with capitalization.

More specifically, a period in a URL indicates a subdomain so if used the URL would read that C is a subdomain of I is a subdomain of C is a subdomain of E is a subdomain of ProBoards. Whilethis is in theory possible to accomplish with your own host and domain, it’s not supported here on PB.

You cannot “announce” anything to google search and it’s highly unlikely that your desired search term of “CICE” will achieve your forum as a top result in the time frame you desire. The below introduction to SEO gives a better overview on how to make your forum relevant for the terms you wish to be searchable for; note that short of paying thousands upon thousands of dollars for SEO services, this will require a LOT of time (months at minimum, but likely years) of patience:

In short, what you are wanting (initials in your URL + fast google indexing) are not possible.

tchu-tcha, fyi - since you purchased the URL change, this comes with 2 weeks of forwarding. Any members or users going to the old forum URL will automatically be forwarded to the new URL.

You might want to make an announcement on your forum regarding the new URL change so members can update their bookmarks or such.

This isn't something you need to worry about.

So no worries. You'll be fine until we go https everywhere and then annoying indicator in your browser will be a thing of the past.
