I need to take ownership of a forum. Previous owner died.

I need to take ownership of a forum where the previous owner is now deceased.

What do I need to do?

The passing of a forum admin will need to be confirmed by a link to an obituary notice before any action is taken. In addition, we'll need a link to the forum in question.

After reviewing the information we've opted to give the forum a 7 day grace period before an ownership transfer is performed given the circumstances. Following this grace period we'll contact you in this thread again.

7 days have passed. We have determined that ownership is now eligible to be transferred. We'll be contacting the remaining admin of the forum first before advancing down the line of succession.

catalyticsubterfuge, it's been a week and we've received no response from the other administrator on the forum so you're now eligible to receive ownership of the forum. Please let me know if you'd like to accept.

Can you also make sure I have all info to access and make any changes and/or additions?

I wasn't sure if you can change my current access level for the forum to "god" status or not on your end.

We haven't yet been able to obtain passwords from the deceased party's family.

An ownership transfer involves moving the main admin account over to your global account, so no credentials are needed.

The transfer is now complete, so you should be able to click on the icon on the bottom right of the forum to switch between your account and the main admin account.
