Universal labels for all boards

I am creating a classifieds forum for my state (Michigan) and I am looking for a way (plugin perhaps?) to add the same labels to all of my boards in my forum either by board id or some other means rather than having to type the same labels over and over again for each board that I want to add them to. Basically I am using labels for members to add their specific location to their post.

A plugin can do this, but not through the built-in label system. It would essentially be recreating the label functionality of the forum from scratch. This means that unlike the built-in labels any labels added via the plugin would not be searchable unless added to the body of the post itself.

I don't need them to be searchable. Their only purpose would be to let other members know what major city they are closest to.

Can anybody help me with his. Currently I am adding labels manually on many boards and it is just taking forever.

Reading your first post.. Are you wanting your members the ability to add their own labels to their own threads?

There are a couple of ways to do this that I can see.. Would you like a set list of locations that your members can choose from, or would you like them to add their own?

If you have a set list, you can either use a key to store the choice, or save it in the thread. If you would like you members to add their own, then you'd need a key.

The choice be yours.

I'll leave the preferred way up to the OP, since they're the one who asked for it. My choice would be the latter - letting my members make their own. Not sure if the OP has room for another key or not, so I'll let them decide. If the OP doesn't come back, then I'd opt for the 2nd method (in bold green in the quote).

I can create the plugin with the option to use either way of either, but then a key would need to be used regardless of which option you chose.

Since the OP hasn't been back to comment on this, if you can still make the plugin - I'd prefer the method where my users can add their own labels. If possible, though, it would also be good if they can be limited to what board(s) they can apply them in.
