i was able to restore some post count on my own based on threads that have been archived on wayback machine, but then i started wondering if pb admins have any way to access an exact number of posts made by a given user from their side (including those that have long since been deleted)
i know i could always search through google analytics, but that only goes as far back as it's been added to our forum and there's no easy way to identify individual users when there's several thousand to go through

Hi Rossi There is not a function on the forum to 'reset' post counts, i'm afraid. It is something which could be a good idea to add, but it would be limited to the accounts that still exist, and the posts which still exist. So, for example, if it were to run on this forum, my post count would be significantly lower because a lot of the posts i have made no longer exist, so it wouldn't be able to count those. I will mark this as a feature request.

rossi, are you trying to achieve an accurate post count that include deletions? I'm not sure what needs to be restored?

rossi , are you trying to achieve an accurate post count that include deletions? I'm not sure what needs to be restored? yes, that's all i was trying to do. to give an example of what i meant by 'restored', there are occasionally times when someone deletes an account then rejoins later and wants their post count restored. but in those cases i usually just get a post count via forum cleanup in my case, since a large number of posts were deleted, it's not possible to get an accurate post count that way, hence why i was curious

rossi, posts counts are not reduced when posts are deleted since technically the user still made that number of posts. So I guess a truer definition of post count is the number of posts a user has made, not the number of posts they made that are still remaining on the forum. An example of why posts counts are not reduced for deleted posts is let's say forums that utilize the ranking feature to attain a certain rank to gain access to a board, or other achievement on an rp site, should a deleted post(s) demote the user and reverse their accomplishment?
