Hi there! I love your site and think it is beautiful, but I put together a list of 10 nit picky things as notes which you are free to use or ignore. I started off using the navigation links in the banner, so that is the order my notes are in.
1. This is never a deal breaker for me personally, but I know some people who are turned off by negativity in the rules. I have heard people say they don't look any further into a site if the rules sound ultra strict and negative. Putting a positive spin on things can help new players feel more excited than intimidated. I would try to lead with the more positive rules so the first thing people are reading isn't: "spamming is not tolerated." First off, that should be a given (I know should doesn't always mean is), second off, you are starting people in a place of "no", which can feel stifling creatively. I would either reword some things and use a more gentle tone, or put more interesting rules at the top like the quest thing. That would probably get a person in a more creative state of mind instead of being hit in the face with a big NO right away. Also, I don't know how fair it is to require people to check back "regularly" to see if there have been any changes to the rules. If there are changes to the rules, that should be announced by the staff and not just left for the members to keep checking back on. I know personally, I would not want to regularly check back on the rules after reading them.
2. Your link to the map gives an error. I found it in the OOC boards, but the link from the banner nav is broken.
3. Having three different posts on the races thread looks kinda chunky, I would combine all of that into one post. In the plug in library there is a plug in to make tabbed sections in posts, I think using that plug in instead of the template for posts would really clean that area up for you.
Link-
www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/2704. I would try to combine magic and monsters using that tabbed plug in too.
5. for Canons I would link to the related lore for each of those. With as much lore as you have, anything to make new potential members lives easier is a good thing. I would also link to each subject in the character creation template post (like for known magic provide a link to your magic stuff etc.). I know all the links are on the navigation on the banner, but in my experience, linking everywhere is always appreciated. Also, are canon characters the only reason you need forum ranks? If so, I don't think you need a seperate post for said ranks...if ranking matters for more than just canon characters though, that should be explained in the ranking post.
6. Getting Started is at the bottom of your links. As a new member guide, it should probably be first or right after rules. Also, I almost missed that there were two posts on that thread, those should definitely be combined or people might not realize they need to scroll down for that second post. Also, as an announcement, it automatically shows up on most boards unless you tell it not to. It is currently on your ad boards and that is confusing. I would check to make sure all the boards you have announcements on make sense to have them.
7. Awards. Since your site is new and you haven't done any awards yet, you might want to do SOMETHING to that section anyway. It looks bad unfinished. At the very least, you should list which awards are available and then maybe link each one to an explanation of how you get that award or the perks of receiving that award or something. I saw on cannons someone mentioned a new member perk, but I didn't see where perks were listed.
8. New potential members want to see active roleplay. I see an open thread, but no role play on it and a whole bunch of empty boards. Guests don't like to see empty boards. I would suggest that even if it is just staff, you should go ahead and start RPing to show there are active writers on your site.
9. I think post templates are kinda neat, but I know a lot of RPers who HATE them, so it is cool to have them as an option, but if only some people are using them to post it could somewhat disrupt the flow when you have a very stylized post followed by an unstylized one. Not a big deal though, more of a personal preference and my own weird anal cohesive thing. Personally, I would use the templates to show people how to submit lore instead of regular posts. The instructions on submitting lore were pretty vague and I know people are often hesitant about submitting lore to a site they didn't create, so a template might be helpful there.
10. Having a Discord or chat box is a great way to help out interested guests so you might want to look into getting something like that. If you already have one, I think it might need to be a little more visible since I couldn't find it
Overall, love the site, very pretty, great work, just wanted to nit pick at it to be helpful
