Hi yuav and Welcome to the Support Forum! First a brief word about terminology. This will help add clarity in the future when you ask for help about something. The area you're talking about is not the sidebar, that's something different. This is the mini-profile. Adding a link to the theme in the library was very helpful. I downloaded it and installed in on my test forum. After looking around, I eventually found what you were after. There isn't any documentation in the description in the library or in the Theme Description field of the Settings tab for this theme. There also isn't a link to a help thread on the Support Forum. But it wasn't too hard to figure this one out. Change the URL for the background-image and the specifications for the border in the areas highlighted in red below. These are the contents of your Mini-Profile template. You can access them by navigating from your Admin panel: Admin Home> Themes> Layout Templates> then click on Mini-Profile<!-- PROFILE HOVER (OPTION 2) BY TRINITY BLAIR OF ADOXOGRAPHY, DO NOT STEAL -->
<div class="$[miniprofile_class]"> <!-- THIS IS WHERE THE DEFAULT HOVER IMAGE IS CHANGED, REMEMBER TO ONLY REPLACE THE URL WITH YOUR OWN --> <div class="minicontainer" style="background-image: url('http://i1153./p504/mallouise/imortalness_zpsa830b21d.png');{foreach $[user.mini_custom_field]}{if $[user.mini_custom_field.name] == "Hover Image"}background-image: url('$[user.mini_custom_field.value]');{/if}{/foreach} background-size: cover;"> <div class="profilemini"> <div class="minicontent1"> <div class="minicontent2"> <center> <center><div class="minusername"><font face="georgia" size="1">$[user]<br /></font></div></center> <!-- THIS IS YOUR USER'S GROUP NAME --> <span style="text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 9px;"> {if $[user.is_member]} {if $[user.is_banned]} Banned User {elseif $[user.is_deleted]} Deleted User {else} {if $[user.group]} $[user.group.name] <br /> <center>$[user.custom_title]</center> {/if} {/if} {else} Annonymous {/if} </span> </center> <br /> <!-- THIS IS WHERE THE AVATAR AND INFORMATION IS DISPLAYED --> <center>$[user.avatar]</center><br /> <span style="font-size: 10px;"> {if $[user.is_member]} {if $[user.is_banned]} <center>I was banned!</center> {elseif $[user.is_deleted]} <center>I was deleted!</center> {else} Posts: <span style="float: right;">$[user.posts]</span><br /><br> {/if} {else} <center>I'm just visiting!</center> {/if} </span> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>
<!-- THIS IS THE STYLING CSS --> <style> .profilemini { position: absolute; width: 200px; height: 300px; opacity: 0; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s; } .profilemini:hover { opacity: 1; } .minicontainer { width: 200px; height: 300px; border: 10px solid #555555; } .minicontent1 { width: 200px; height: 300px; background-color: #0f0f0f; } .minicontent2 { padding: 10px; } .minusername { text-align:center; border-bottom:2px solid #888888; font:14px arial narrow condensed!important; } .minusername a { font:12px arial narrow!important; } .customtitle1 { font:12px arial narrow; text-align:center; } .minirank { background-color:#888888; font:12px arial narrow #0f0f0f; text-align:center; text-transform:uppercase; padding:2px 4px; border-bottom:0px solid #000; margin-bottom:5px; } .groups { font:12px arial narrow; text-align:center!important; text-transform:uppercase; } </style> You'll need to host your 200px by 300px image somewhere. Uploading it to the Custom Theme Images section at the very bottom of the Images tab of the theme is a logical place. The you can grab the URL and paste it into the Mini-Profile template. Let me know if that gets you where you want to go, or if you need additional help. :)

Retread thank you so much for your response! My apologies for the confusion, too. You've been super helpful with this, but I was just wondering if there was a way I could make it so that each member can customise and change the default image to something they want instead of just having the one mandatory, if that makes sense? (So if we're going from the default immortal heroes image with the ruins, would it be possible to imply code or something so that each member can change it to a custom image of their choosing?) If not, is there a way to just get rid of the feature all together? Thank you so much in advance! EDIT: I tried installing the Mini-Profile Background plugin (https://www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/714) to see if it could change the image and allow it to be custom for each member but nothing actually changes (most likely because the mini-profile in this theme is already set), so any help would be great!

If not, is there a way to just get rid of the feature all together? Thank you so much in advance! No worries, friend. In time you'll learn the correct forum terminology that will help you communicate more effectively. And we can help you with that. There's an excellent Help Guide in the Support forum. When you have time, peruse it at your convenience. The Glossary of Common Forum Terms and Acronyms doesn't include Sidebar and Mini-Profile but it might clarify the use of other terms you come across.
Modifiying this theme to allow for each user to choose their own 'background' image would be a huge task. There might be a plugin in the Library which accomplishes the same type of thing on a standard mini-profile but I suspect there will be problems using it on the modified mini-profile on this theme.
Getting rid of the feature and using a stock mini-profile would be possible. The first step would be to reset the mini-profile to default. That's a one button task. But even that presents another challenge. The Style Sheet has been altered to provide a larger container and different alignments within the left-panel. So that would require finding the necessary values in the style sheet which need to be changed back to stock values. You might be able to contact the theme author or enlist the help of someone with a deep knowledge of themes to help you with this.
If you plan to use this theme, I think the best course of action is to accept it as it is and change the background image (which will be seen on every mini-profile) to something that ties in with your forum. Or you might want to look for a different theme that better serves your needs.
