So after doing some reading. I guess the imgur plugin isnt good to use now? Then the simple image upload plugin is gone.
I want users to be able to upload images easy that are not thumbnails. The forum is game related. So screen shots are going to be shared. The stock 1MB file upload in the forum itself is ok. But its pretty limited for what im used to.
I have installed the cloudinary plugin & have it working for myself. But it requires other users to sign up to cloudinary themselves to upload their content. This maybe a turn off to even bother trying to share things in post. Mostly because it requires some understanding in setup. That some people may not be able to comprehend.
Are there any other options that dont require payment? Im just doing the forum for free to a gaming community. I dont make any money from it myself.

Hello JustOnesThe Cloudinary File Upload plugin you mentioned is excellent but as you've noted, it's a bit too complicated for the average user to set up their cloudinary account and provide the necessary information in the added fields of their profile settings. Peter recently wrote a plugin to fill the void left behind when the Simple Image Upload plugin was retired because of problems it created. It makes use of the Tiny Pic site. Here's a link to his post in a previous thread: support.proboards.com/post/7180262/thread You can click the link in his post and that will create a popup where you can download the .pbp file to your computer. Then through the Admin panel on your forum you can use the Plugin Manager to upload that file from your computer to your forum. Give that a try. If you like it, be sure to let Peter know you appreciate his effort in creating the plugin. 😉

Btw you don't actually need to fill in the information in your profile to use cloudinary, (or even need the plugin really).
Once you have your cloudinary account, you can log in and upload the image directly and then click on the chain link image in the top corner to get your link, then just add [img] [/img] either end of the code provided to have it show in your post.
