Hello, so I tried to use that plugin it worked first month. But then when I try to upload an image the icon is just moving in a circle without uploading anything. Do u know how to fix that?

Some of my users have complained about this happening periodically. It usually works when they try later so maybe it's something with vgy.me, either a maintenance break or heavy usage?

Is it an image file, and if so is it a very big one?

At the time Peter wrote this plugin, vgy.me was accepting anonymous uploads and that's what this plugin is designed to do. If you look at the home page on their site (link), there is a new message:



So at the moment, this plugin will not be able to function as it did at the time of its creation. I don't know what Peter will do, if anything, to fix this.

thefamiliartavern at this moment, the only other plugin to upload images is Cloudinary File Upload. It's an extremely powerful resource but it's also much more complicated to set up, for each individual user on the forum.

In addition to each user needing to create their own account on Cloudinary, they'll also have to create an upload preset on Cloudinary and enter that and their own cloud name into new fields on their user profile.

It's excellent but not a great choice for the casual forum user.

The code in your image is PHP, so I doubt it would work in a plugin - as ProBoards does not support PHP codes.

That is correct. vgy.me has stopped accepting anonymous uploads, so this plugin can no longer function.

We're all disappointed but imagine how Peter must feel.

He created a nice plugin to upload images to TinyPic and shortly thereafter they announced they will be permanently shutting down, making his work all for naught.

Then he created an easier to use plugin to upload images to vgy.me and a month and a half later, they stop accepting anonymous uploads, again making his work all for naught.

I believe using a user key from vgy.me might be possible but there will be some serious danger if the user key is acquired by the forum owner and the same key is used for all uploads on that forum.

Since all images from that forum will be uploaded to a common account, if ANYONE uploads an image which violates vgy.me's Terms of Service, it's uncertain what would happen to all the proper images on that account which others have previously uploaded. Would vgy.me block all images which have been uploaded to that account? idk. Scary thought, that.

I don't know what the answer is here. That's way above my paygrade.

Peter If it's any help, I've found a few other sites that have an API available for 3rd-party uploading.

Some of these may not allow us to create a plugin because of their TOS and some may have a paywall I didn't see on the homepages, but I hope this provides a good starting step if the vgy.me plugin is unresolveable.
