Well, the Skins face the Giants tomorrow, so we'll see if the coaching shake up makes a difference. I hope the Skins get at least one win this season, but if they end up being "that" team, I hope they embrace it like the Browns did.

I apologize if I'm wrong, but don't the Skins face the Dolphins today?

No, you're right. I play the Giants today in my Madden game, lol. Got my schedules crossed.
The good news is the Dolphins are 0-4, the Skins 0-5. So, somebody has to win! Unless of course it goes to a tie and that would be about fitting for the Redskins season so far.
Iโm officially done with the NFL for this season. The Bengals just went 0-6 and there is nothing to keep me engaged. Green and Ross are still out, with the former probably being traded at this point since he never plays and goes into free agency next year. The new coach is an absolute bum who makes the worst decisions imaginable (hell, he played in the CFL for Christโs sakeโfootballโs short bus!) and I hope Cincinnati goes 0-16 this year because that embarrassment is what itโll take to get his cheeks canned. Mike Brown is so cheap that even a single win will justify keeping this loser for 5+ years instead of going through the expense of finding a decent coach.
Meanwhile, Ohio State is 6-0 and Iโm making the decision to go all-in on college football this year, because competent players and play callers rarely disappoint. Iโve been leaning that way in recent years anyway, and now thereโs really nothing to divert my attention.
The only reservation I have is the terrible poll-based ranking system the FBS uses. I understand why they use itโschools making beaucoup dโargent know the best way to keep the money rolling in is to stay at the top of the headlines against all other college subdivisions and leagues, and the easiest (read: cheapest) way to do that is to give sports writers and other โjournalistsโ a say in how the teams are ranked, thus gaining coverage through investmentโbut the lack of objectivity is off-putting, to say the least. Thatโs to say nothing about all the other polls that exist, because the absence of objectivity makes everyone think they should have a voice. Thereโs also a lot of bias in the rankings, with teams generally holding their positions based upon reputation alone instead of performance improvement, as is often touted. Iโd kill for a switch to a win-loss system like the NFL (and FCS and practically every other league) uses.
Still, the frustration of blogger blowhards deciding the rankings is but a small price to pay against the headache-inducing agony of watching Cincinnati get utterly humiliated week after week in one way or another. They lost to the Browns twice last season, lost to two no-win teams the previous two weeks this season, and the defense let the Ravensโ QB make fools of them time after time after time today. I know, I know, a person shouldnโt be a fair-weather fan, but the Bengals have become an all-weather disappointment and to quote one Ms. Sweet Brown: โAinโt nobody got time for that!โ

Lul, the Eagles hand 1st place in the division to the Cowboys on a silver platter, and Dallas responds by losing to the Jets. At least something positive came out of today's games.
Well the Skins won a close one over the Dolphins, but I feel like if it had gone to overtime they would have choked like they always do, no idea why the Dolphins coach went for two at the end. Regardless, at least they won a game. If nothing else they have that going for them.
I don't know if it has been asked and I don't feel like going through the thread, so I'll ask now: what makes your favorite team your favorite?
Grew up and still live in Maryland, just been my team ever since I was a kid. Really miss the Joe Gibbs era and the noise and energy the fans put out at RFK stadium back in the day.
Today's game in the rain feels like an old school RFK game. Sure would be nice to pull an upset over the 49ers.

I decided to finish watching an LP of The Nonary Games while leaving tonight's game on in the background, rather than giving the game my full attention like I usually do, because I figured it would more than likely be a blowout loss. I made the correct decision.
There is nothing like losing to a division rival and not being able to enjoy the rest of the season because your team is so bad in every aspect that you know you wouldnโt do anything in the postseason anyway. I hate that I love this team so much sometimes.
