How to link to files stored in an FTP?

Sorry if this has been solved before, but I did not find it in a search.

I have files stored in my FTP and I get my direct download link to them in Filezilla, but when pasting the link in BBCode for other people to download it does not work.

The [ URL ] reverts to something else and just refreshes the page, the [FTP] one doesn't work either, and I have no more ideas. I can add links to Mediafire and other hosting webs, but BBCode seems not willing to recognize my direct links to an FTP file.

Are you able to provide a link to where you attempted to post the ftp link.

Hi Craig, thanks for the quick response.

Here is for example one of the files:

51.77.116.8/Automobilista/Mods/2019/Gold%20Star/GTPC%20Update%201.01.rar

Copy and paste in the browser bar triggers the download, but I can't embed it as a direct link in my posts.

Thanks. It does appear that ftp is not recognised within the link in the way it should. I will label this for the devs attention and they will hopefully comment later today, if i could invite you back to check for a response.

forumlearner, it would depend on when and if this feature is added. Most likely it would be mentioned in a Development Blog Update

Hello, some weeks ago the hotlinking to FTP stored files started working, so I guess the dev team fixed/upgraded that. I just wanted to say thanks, and what a great support, happy to have our community hosted by PB.
