V. I. P. Membership

If you were going to offer a V. I. P. membership on your forum, what would be some perks you would offer to those in your community who become a V. I. P.?

Well, it really depends. If the forum has Adfree options already enabled to allow the forum to earn off of advertising put in by the forum owner, I personally would include adfree for those specific users. After all, they are supplementing adfree costs in one sense of the word.

Other things I would include, would probably include the following, based on how much I am willing to give out, based on the genre of the forum:

1. A sticky topic (be it a stickied ad topic, or a stickied topic based on whatever criteria that is set for the forum, ex: informational topics, fun topics, discussion topics, etc.).
2. A change in username color.
3. Custom set of stars (if in a VIP group)
4. A forum to communicate with the owner and staff of a forum, with additional items there, like getting information on future changes to the forum.
5. A possible forum redirect, or link in the menu, to link to whatever.

That isn't a exhaustive list, but those items I might consider adding to a VIP user, if I were to potentially award them the status, or have them pay for it.

If it is an RP forum, you could offer specific characters that only the V.I.P. members can play, or specific locations.

I think you'll need to give access to special sections for VIPs only. For example, in my case: lumitosoftware.boards.net, my forum depends on downloads. In my case, if I decide to sell VIP subscriptions, I would make a VIP section with download links restricted to VIPs only, that you need to ask an ADMIN for the link privately.
