Are you having the usual winter for your area? Here in New England we are 3 1/2 inches below normal as far as snowfall goes and it has been so mild that I am already seeing stink bugs in my house. Edited -----> (because I misunderstood something and now I'm embarrassed )

Are you having the usual winter for your area? There is no such thing as 'usual' when it comes to winter in Michigan. That said, we had one big snow this season in November and after it melted daytime temps have ranged from the high 50s to the low 20s. It snowed yesterday and again overnight into this morning. But the total accumulation was only about 2 inches.

"The Winter That Wasn't"📚 Dianne 📚 , not sure if this sounds like a Hallmark movie or a Dr. Seuss book!

"The Winter That Wasn't"📚 Dianne 📚 , not sure if this sounds like a Hallmark movie or a Dr. Seuss book! Totally unrelated, but that made me think of a book I once owned: The Cars That Never Were.

Not at all. I'm in Pennsylvania and it's been such a mild winter so far. I can't complain too much, I don't like when it's really cold even though I love snow. But earlier this week there was a couple days in the 60s, yesterday was in the 40s and today it snowed.

We've had one day of snow, and all of it melted by the next day. Of course, this is the year that I bought expensive snow boots... I guess they'll last a year longer before wearing out?

This year is warmer than average. The last ten or twenty years seem to have been warmer (in the Winter at least) than when I was a kid- fewer days in the teens and twenty degree range. Climate is warmer now than when I was growing up.
I have some ideas about the cause, but could not prove with absolute certainty without running a bunch of replication experiments. My computer lacks the horsepower to run said simulation.

I FEEL YOU ON THIS. We got a "historic snowfall" accumulation one year - later that same year, I got myself expensive winter boots, and 5 years later, I've worn them all of once. ONCE. ONCE!!!!

I'm not to fond of when the weather is in the teens and single digits, but I understand the necessity of those days. Like I said, I'm already seeing insects, birds etc. that should still be, well for lack of a better word, hibernating. ( Sorry haven't had first cup of coffee yet today.)
