[Admins only]
Just looking for clarification on PB's ad provider rules: I know autoplay audio/video ads are disallowed, but what about play-on-rollover? I would think these wouldn't be allowed because they do not require any intentional interaction with the ad from the user (eg, you can trigger the audio/video if you're scrolling and accidentally have your mouse in where the ad would be as you scroll) but it's to me a grey area since they don't technically autoplay.
Thanks!

Thanks! Hi Kami I see your OP says [Admins only] but rather than having you wait until possibly Tuesday, I'll direct you to a reply from roughly two years ago which clarifies this. hdva The screenshots for the 'videos' at the bottom of the forum page are ads. Ads may contain videos and even loop the video so long as they do not automatically play audio nor pop out, neither of which they seem to do. Regarding the banner ad at the top of the forum, based on the screenshot it appears that the ad was clicked? Or was there some interaction with it that resulted in a shoe being highlighted? If a video was triggered by hovering over the ad, then this is not acceptable and should be reported. I'm sure one of the ProBoards Admins will inform us of any changes to that on Tuesday. Or confirm the same rules are still in place.

Hey retread! Thanks, that helps! Will wait for admins to confirm but I suspect that post is still accurate.
(No worries about the admins thing, I tend to put that there since I frequently get people directing me to incorrect responses when it comes to questions I have about ads; I appreciate the time you took to find a relevant response!)

Hi,
As far as I know we do not consider hovering to be interaction. An ad should only pop out/play audio if you actually interact with it.

Hi, As far as I know we do not consider hovering to be interaction. An ad should only pop out/play audio if you actually interact with it. I'll go ahead and report those ads if I see them, ran into a few of them over the weekend and wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming!
