OK, so I feel like this is an internet issue. But the tech person (from the cable/internet place) I was talking to said it was my laptop that was causing internet pages not to load.
Is he right that it's something to do with my laptop or is it actually the internet?
It seems like some pages are loading normally and some are so slow it feels like dial-up.

I can imagine the weather can cause a lot of issues on laptops or computers and even tv, we were warned in the media that this can affect the internet... How the weather affects your internetEdit: I had the wrong link at first but have now changed it.

We have this Storm Dennis hitting us here in Scotland right now and every now and then it will affect me and Liz's laptop, slow loading, losing connections now and then but when it's nice outside and no storms everything is ok.

Well, the weather is decent here at the moment. We had some snow or sleet last week which caused outage but that was sorted the cable/internet company said. But it's still slow like I'm on dial-up. Can something wrong with the laptop cause slow internet? Not saying something is wrong with the laptop. I did have an issue a few weeks ago and I sorted it and then the outage happened and since then everything is slow.

Have you tried clearing your cache etc? maybe try another server, we have Google Chrome Gold we are quite happy with that and we have our internet wireless box here in the lounge so that way we get a better signal, we moved it about 2 year's ago as we had it in the backroom and we were having problems connecting and slow loading. We called a Virgin media engineer in who found a fault in a cable that was running into the backroom wireless box, he removed the cable and just put the wireless box it onto our tv unit and plugged it straight into our tv and it's been plain sailing since with the odd small blip now and then.

I clean the cache every night before bed. Even clean it sometimes during the day when the internet is slow. Yeah I did use Google Chrome gold for a bit then it was giving me issues as much as regular Google Chrome. Yeah don't have options for my box. The only connection is in my bedroom and the tech guy that set up wifi for me positioned it to get better reception. It has been decent over the years but ever since this last outage they had it's been slow. That is the other problem. Mine would still have to stay in my room since the phone hooks up to the box and that is the only main phone connection in my room too. :/

You might need a new box or connector, I know we had to change our wireless box about 4 years ago as it was outdated and was replaced with an up-grade. Anyways, maybe one of the more technical gifted guys or girls in here might help you out.

Occasionally, I would need to flush my computer's dns cache, and not my browser cache, as I have hiccups with my internet being slow (or even not loading) from time to time. The computer dns cache can cause speed issues and sites not loading, if you are using your internet connection for long periods of time.

Compare it on a different device if possible. Or, take your laptop and try it on another wifi source.
Try resetting the router. Make sure your laptop is clear of malware.
After that, you'd want to troubleshoot with the service provider.
