Forum URL: gooroosgruntz.proboards.comMy forum (over 16 years old!) is extremely customized, with the main menu filled with buttons for everything. None of them are visible!
None of the images hosted with GoDaddy are being displayed, but the functions associated with them work.
What is the solution to get back to having a truly usable forum?

I would recommend either uploading all of your images to a image host that already serves ssl links to uploaded images, or upload the images to your default theme, and relink them.

GooRoo , looks like your images are on gooroosgruntz.info - I'm assuming this is your website that you have hosted on GoDaddy? Since the images are not showing up this would mean that your website does not support SSL. Some web hosts offer free SSL certificates. I'd chat with GoDaddy to see if that's an option for you. An SSL certificate on your domain should resolve this issue for you. If GoDaddy doesn't offer free SSL, you could see if using Cloudflare with your website is an option. If so you could set up a free account there. Get Free SSL For Your Website with Cloudflare. This would involve pointing your DNS to Cloudflare EDIT: Or do what Joshua Farrell suggested.

Or could the ever-present 's' in my URL's httpS be removed at my (or any other administrator's) option? Every page change goes back to the https: version, even when I have made the simple change to be able to view my images on the current page I am viewing. It would help to be able to select http: and have it stay that way.

I would recommend either uploading all of your images to a image host that already serves ssl links to uploaded images, or upload the images to your default theme, and relink them. On my forum there are THOUSANDS of images hosted with GoDaddy. Somehow I doubt that proboards will support (free!) about a gigabyte of images. And I certainly have no desire to take the time out of my already long (77 years) life to make them available via Proboards and provide the new links for each of them.
Not a solution!

Not a solution! As Scott mentioned, you can sign up for Cloudflare for your website which would get you SSL for free to fix the issue. I think this would be the cheapest, best option for you.

If I cannot (easily) reach my admin functions (no menu items visible), how can I add a fix to my hosting problem?
In the PC puzzle game my forum supports, one of the (enemy) Gruntz, when you click on it responds "Click, click, click! What do you think I am, a chipmunk?". Not even the alt text displays in place of the missing images! So I have to 'click' blindly, in hopes of hitting the admin function.

For what it's worth, you can also add /admin to the end of your URL in the address bar and bypass the need for buttons to reach the admin panel 👍🏽

Took your advice and am now waiting for assistance from either Cloudflare/PushAlert or GoDaddy/Plesk for inserting the javascript.

Took your advice and am now waiting for assistance from either Cloudflare/PushAlert or GoDaddy/Plesk for inserting the javascript. Not sure what "JavaScript" you are waiting for? SSL and JavaScript are not the same thing and there is no JavaScript solution for the SSL/image issues you are having.

Cloudflare involves something named 'PushAlert' which is in javascript. Too old to keep up with all of these new changes to even know most of the terms anymore.

Hi, Cloudflare does not involve PushAlert. PushAlert is simply the location of the guide. This has nothing to do with SSL at all and I suggest you remove this unnecessary JavaScript.

So, so far everything I have tried to do has no effect at all on broken images, except for uploading a few of them to be under storage here.
My time is up until about 32 hours from now, due to various meetings and other obligations I have. (Gives you a small rest from dealing with me.)
