I would like to have the first post of one chosen thread, remain at the top of every page in the thread, is it possible?

Hi,
I'm aafraid this is not really possible. It would require a key to hold the post contents, and as a key can only hold a finite amount of data you would be very restricted to what and how much can be displayed.

So a plug-in would be needed, which probably can’t be made for what I am requesting?

A plugin could be made to do this, but with some pretty big restrictions which would, to me, make it unworthwhile.

Thank you for your reply, Todge.
The reason for this request is because of a thread where the first post has a link in it, that we want members to see.

Thank you for your reply, Todge. The reason for this request is because of a thread where the first post has a link in it, that we want members to see. If it is for only one thread, you can add this to the boards' header.. <div id="thread_header" style="display: none">Content Here</div> <script> if(proboards.data('page').thread.id == xxx) { $('#thread_header').css('display',''); } </script> And edit the red parts with the content and thread ID number.

Eagleeye, I changed it to the following and tried your other possibilities, but it didn’t work. Thank you so much for trying to help. <div id="thread_header" style="display: none">'Please Help here.
www.thebreastcancersite.com/' </div>
<script>
if(proboards.data('page').thread.id == '10483')
{
$('#thread_header').css('display','block');
}
</script>

Hi @lucylane It looks like you've done a fine job of copying the coding Todge supplied and getting the proper thread ID. I can't see the results on your forum as that thread is apparently a board where guests can't access. The only thing I might imagine went wrong is if you placed the coding in the Header of the wrong board. It would have to be the same board where the thread is located. Also, if the thread is an Announcement, you should place the coding in the Global Header instead of a board Header. Or you could just place it at the bottom of your Global Header anyway since it won't appear unless the page has that thread ID. Be advised that the text you entered and the url will only show up as plain text with no additional styling. And it will appear above the Title Bar for the thread. I dressed this up for you a bit and you're welcome to use this if it suits you: <style> #thread_header{ font-size:25px; background-color:AntiqueWhite; color:DeepPink; text-align:center; padding:5px; border:10px ridge Pink; margin:10px 0px 10px 0px; } #thread_header img{ max-height:30px; } </style> <div id="thread_header" class="title-bar" style="display:none;"> <h1> <img src="https://img.icons8.com/color/30/000000/pink-ribbon.png"> Please Help here: <a href="www.thebreastcancersite.com/">www.thebreastcancersite.com</a> <img src="https://img.icons8.com/color/30/000000/pink-ribbon.png"> </h1> </div> <script> if(proboards.data('page').thread.id == 10483) { $('#thread_header').css('display',''); } </script>

That code you provided worked brilliantly, Retread! The colouring is perfect too.
I opened the board temporarily, to have everyone able to see it.
I appreciate your help, Retread.
Thank you.

You're welcome, @lucylane. I enjoyed having the opportunity to see it in use. And thank you, Todge for coming up with an elegantly simple solution we were able to build upon!
