Hello. My forum is: peugeotclubeportugal.proboards.comThe problem I have is: Some links in my Forum began to give "This link is inactive." messages, but if I copy and paste the link in my browser, they work good! The first time we acess to the link in a Forun's page, sometimes it works, but then if we repeat to click the link, it gives the "This link is inactive." message in a blank page. If we do refresh to the page, the link works one more time, but then returns to not work... When the link don't work, we are direct to the page below and give the message "This link is inactive.": ui2.awin.com/closedmerchant.php?mid=10681&aid=85386You can access to this page and test it... peugeotclubeportugal.proboards.com/thread/2308/testing-linksIf we copy and paste the link in the browser, it works always good... Only in the Forum have problems... psa.download.navigation.com/automotive/PSA/RT6-SMEGx/42083.ZIPHere in this Help Forum and this Thread, the link is working always ok... I don't know what to do and need your help... Thank you

Hi,
I wasn't able to replicate any issue with that link on your forum other links on my own forum. Is it just that link you experience issues with?

Hi,
I'm not experiencing any issues and it sounds like the problem is coming from that link specifically. If you're having an issue with a linked download from another site I suggest you contact the host of that content.

Sorry to insist but... I'm certain the problem is in my Forum and not on the links. The links are right, I can access to them if I copy and past to the browser. The links are downloads from different sites and they all work good. When I put them in a Forum page, they simply don't redirect to the right addresses, but redirect to other sites I don't know... If I put the links here in this thread, they work good and all clicks are redirected to the right address and the downloads starts with no problems like if we copy and paste links to the browser... Please tell me what happens when you click in the links on my forum, cause I tried remotely in another computer about 100km from here with another internet supplier and the result is the same, the downloads don't start... Did the same in my smartphone and the same issue... Can you access the downloads directly by clicking the links inside this page in my forum? Once in the page, wait some seconds and try... peugeotclubeportugal.proboards.com/thread/2308/testing-links

I was able to replicate an issue with the TAR files. The ZIP file worked no problem every time I tried it - even with no refresh, but the TAR files on the OP's forum took me to the TomTom home page, rather than doing a download. Yet, the TAR file download links work fine for me here on support. Could VigiLink maybe be doing a redirect there with those links? When visiting the forum itself uBlock flagged a tracking link which is not present when clicking here on Support. EDIT: this is also occurring with my test forum (after an initial 'popup has been blocked'), with some links hanging on 'loading' and not showing any progress or download popups. EDIT 2: interestingly, this only occurs when clicking these links with left click. Middle clicking to open in a new tab bypasses these issues (both my test forum and OP's forum). Helder Lopes - try either middle clicking your links OR right click > open in new tab and see what happens. (Right clicking does NOT bypass, only middle click). A temporary work around in the meantime.

Thank you very much for wasting your time. (and other friends too) I confirm using middle clicking, bypasses the issue.
I spent some time yesterday around this issue, making configs and tests in various pcs without success... If we put the mouse in top of links without click on then only to see where they are pointing, we can see when we refresh the page, the link address is clean, but a few seconds later if we pass the mouse over the links again, they change to something started with REDIRECT.VIGLINK.... and the issue starts if we click the links... Some are directed to one site and the other links to another site. I have more links with problems... Only use these ones to exemplify...
The first link do this I descrybed, changing redirect in a few seconds after. The other 3 related to TOMTOM have always the issue right from the first time we enter or refresh the page... All 4 links work fine and open the download if we click with the middle button of the mouse.
I hope you can help me solve this problem.
Thank You so much.

I guess I should always remember to test with more than middle click (who doesn't just use middle click all the time???) but that's good information to have regardless.
I'll report this issue to Viglink and hopefully they'll correct it soon. In the meantime it sounds like we have a viable workaround.

Thank You all for your help.
I think the problem is with Viglink and my Forum cause in this Support thread, the problem doesn't exist.
Hope you can arrange a solution.
thank you!

Hello. Still having the problem. Nothing changed. Waiting for 2 months. Anyone can help me? Thank you. Greetings. Hi, Testing this in the latest Chrome (both middle click and simply clicking) I wasn't able to replicate any issue. Viglink has reported resolving this as well. What happens when you attempt to click the links?

You have to enter in my Forum to see the problem. The links are the same I posted here in this thread, but here in this forum the problem don't happens. This support forum is free from this issue... Kami saw the problem and give an alternative solution, but who click the links with central middle click? Some mouses haven't the middle button, like laptops... In my forum if you click with the right click (left one), you allways go directed to this site (https://ui2.awin.com/closedmerchant.php?mid=7429&aid=85386),and not the link address wher it should go... If you enter the forum and if you are fast clicking the link, sometimes it works, but wait some seconds ou try second time and the problem happens allways. The problem is only to direct download links, not links to other pages. Only direct addresses of a download like the ones I posted here... peugeotclubeportugal.proboards.com/thread/2308/testing-linksYou can test again here, no register is needed... Please see the links in the thread, click with left click and see where they send you. You can copy the links to a browser and you can see they exists and are working. Why they take us to a blank page with words (This link is inative)? Then you can simply copy one link and make reply there, you see the same problem... Then paste that same link here in this support thread, and you see the links are allways working... why here they work as is expected, and in my forum don't... This problem has caused me a lot of trouble with users... The problem it's only been a few months... Thank You

Hi,
I did test this on your forum, we always will test where the issue occurred.
What browser/device are you still encountering this error on?
