I'd love a plug in that allowed you to put your boards side by side. Would be even better is the choice to make certain boards a different shape I.E. circular if at all possible would be cool too.

I've tried a lot of codes I've seen about and a plugin would be handy for someone who doesn't know coding. The posted codes I've tried either don't work, make my forum boards zig-zagged, or like the one you gave me doesn't look right. thebermudatriangle.freeforums.net/forumI suggested a plugin because some of us don't know coding and can't achieve this look....a plugin would be so much simpler for said users and the side by sideboards are a popular/sought after look. There's plug ins for tables and there's defiantly codes for them as well.

wildrosetbt, there is no need to understand anything about coding when making a template modification like that. Just copy what's in the code box then paste it into the Board List tab of the Board layout template, replacing the previous content. You might convince someone to write the JS to accomplish the same task but it's more efficient to display the content in the desired layout in the first place rather than have JS move things about after the fact.

I had to put my site back to normal so that I could get my plugins to work so here is a screen shot.

Hi that's what I've been doing, replacing the board list area. Doesn't work right. A plug in would be effortless...

wildrosetbt , I can produce a more visually appealing side by side board layout than the one resulting from the code in the thread that was linked. The process would be an effortless copy and paste into Themes > Layout Templates > Board > Board List just like before, no coding knowledge necessary. If you have any preferences in regards to what the final product actually looks like please specify them now. Keep in mind that the column headings (Board, Threads, Posts, Last Post) will be removed entirely. Would be even better is the choice to make certain boards a different shape I.E. circular if at all possible would be cool too. Every element on a web page starts out rectangular in shape. You can round the corners but there's no way to create a true circle. Any elements you see that do look completely circular are still just using rounded corners and have to adhere to very strict rules with the content they contain in order to maintain that shape. Basically, it doesn't scale well with larger content. As far as the boards are concerned none of them have a background color in the default layout so I'm not sure how you'd tell they're circular to begin with. You might convince someone to write the JS to accomplish the same task but it's more efficient to display the content in the desired layout in the first place rather than have JS move things about after the fact. ^ This is pretty much the exact reason no plugin authors have written a plugin for this. Anything having to do with changing your forum's initial layout in this fashion is 100% a job for the layout templates. It's also why the entire Theme Library exists on ProBoards.
