Card Game Similiar to vDice?

Todge , I may be interested in using this quick reply button. Will it follow the same permissions that I have set stating that the advanced reply button only appears in my "Message Board Games" board? I would only want it to appear in the quick reply in that one board.

Similarly, I don't think the VDice creator has logged in to ProBoards Support for a few years. That plugin does not let me set the dice/die button to only appear in boards that select. It that something you can change that wouldn't cause you any trouble? If it is a lot of trouble, don't worry about it.

Yes, it will only appear in the board(s) tht you select in the plugin settings.

Can you both try version 1.0.4 and let me know how you get on.

bigballofyarn, unfortunately it is not for me to edit another persons' plugin, but there may be a way to de-activate it on the board(s) you do not want it displayed on.. I'll take a look.

I did a quick test and it works beautifully in the quick reply in my Message Board Games board. It does not appear in any other boards. It does not interfere with VDice or anything else I have added myself. I thank you very much. It works very well. I will let you know if I encounter any problems.

Also, I understand regarding the other plugin. Let me know what you discover. There's no rush. Thank you again.

So, a strange thing happened. I'm having a different experience on a different device. My office computer which uses FireFox and private browsing gives me the desired results.

My personal laptop shows the quick reply button in every single board. I've tested in multiple browsers that do not use private browsing.  I did not test on my laptop in my original test, and cannot say with full certainty whether or not the button appeared earlier.

I have a forum with my twin brother. He did the test. He said it shows in all boards in the quick reply but does show in the quick reply on windows 10.

On old XP and 7 computers, quick reply only has it in desired boards.

I'm afraid that is out of my control. I add a piece of code to call a function in the board footers, the boards you select within a plugin tells PB which board(s) you want the footer part of the plugin to be added to.. I have no control over that.

I have checked the plugin, and the function to call the main code into effect is only in the footer part of the plugin.

The fact that it seems to be misbehaving in some operating systems but fine in others is strange too, and as I use W10, there's no way I can test it in XP, W7 or whatever.

Make sure that you only have 1 version of the plugin installed in your forums.. If you have more thn one, the settings in one can effect the operation of the other. If you have 2 (or more) poker plugins, uninstall them both, then download a reinstall the new one.

Other than that, all I can say is that there is something going on with PB's software that is causing board footers to be added to boards where they are not meant to be.. PB are pretty good, and any problems are usually caught early and corrected, so give it a couple of days to see if the issue resolves itself.

If all of the above fails, let me know and I'll try to investigate further.

Perhaps whatever I experienced earlier was temporary. I am now achieving the desired results on all devices. My boyfriend also checked his laptop, and the quick reply button only appeared in the desired board. You can effectively disable the Vdice plugin by adding this to the board or category headers where you do NOT want it to be shown..
