I've got two full packs in my garage, but there's still no toilet paper or tissues in the supermarkets.

I am 70 years old and can remember the early 50's where rationing was still around due to WWII and if we run out of toilet paper my mum would get a newspaper or a comic and cut it up and made toilet paper out of that, it was nice sitting on the pan and reading bits of the Beano or Dandy while doing my business.

I realize that anything can be used to wipe one's butt, as long as it is not flushed.
However, what I am *really* wondering about is what do you have stored up that you normally wouldn't consider emergency supplies (your secret stash as it were) -like me and my Milano's...and don't worry I'll take your secret to my...er...,uhm...nope, better not use that particular word. So let's just say I won't tell anyone except my cats!

All sorted here in Hungary but in the UK, where people have been unable to buy it due to morons stripping shelves bare & loading up vans full of the stuff, they have been improvising with wet wipes, kitchen roll & even newspaper. As a result, it is causing sewer blockages. But there could be a silver lining now as hotels & businesses are forced to close, there should be a glut of the stuff on the market. If you're having problems finding any, get a hold of the wholesale companies. They'll be happy to sell it to you. I didn't know you were Hungarian -so am I and I wish I had been able to learn the language from my grandmother and grandfather...I'm going to visit your country as soon as this mess is over. I may drive my husband crazy by making some Lencseleves kolbΓ‘sszal -he truly hates this and will think I'm torturing him for being home 24-7 now! TΓΊrΓ³s csusza I'mm make later on in the week. that he loves, naturally since he has high cholesterol .

Seriously Retread I've been stocking up on all of my ridiculously long cash register slips--- one never when it will come in handy! I miss the good old days of the Sears and Montgomery Ward catalogues! π Dianne π , if you run out of toilet paper, just buy a pack of gum or something at CVS.

Shelves are empty in all the major stores in my part of the UK. I was looking forward to a spaghetti bolognese for dinner tonight, but couldnβt get any spaghetti anywhere. I noticed that theyβd left the pasta sauce alone, though. We are going to have to learn how to make our own pasta if this lasts much longer! Well at least we can learn if we can still find flour and eggs. I don't get it - manufacturers are still making things - why are people going so crazy when they can just have done their shopping normally and we wouldn't have run out of anything.

Be careful what you flush everyone. Just because it is safe for flushing does not mean your own pipe to the main will not get clogged, and the expense to the sewer main to have cleaned is on you!

I have some and paper towels, baby wipes. If worst comes to worst, you can use coffee filters, or tissue wrapping paper, or pet wipes. lol Or how about a wash cloth. No way would I trade food to wipe my behind!
