Posts since last visit plugin please To be honest, this is not enough detail. Who can see that last post count? Just the user? The user and Staff? Does it just start at 0 each login and counts the number of posts made during that logged in session? Where does it get displayed? Is is just a popup that the user sees when they log on, or is it simply shown in their profile and/or mini-profile? It's doubtful any plugin author will make this with what you have posted thus far. Details, details, details.

On a site I frequent it is along side the recent posts option, called posts since last visit, showing all posts since the user was last online at the forum. A good way to catch up by seeing the posts you have missed by being off the forum. Could be a sidebar widget or just a button like recent posts.

That can already be seen by the NEW indicators on both the board level and thread level. On the thread level, a user just needs to click that NEW indicator and they'll be taken to the first unread post for them in that thread.

I think you might be better off utilizing the existing Recent Threads page of your forum for this purpose. While plugins can record threads (as evidenced by the Recently Updated Threads Sidebar plugin) they're limited in how much they can record, versus the features built into the forum itself which aren't nearly as restrained.
As mentioned in the other replies to this thread the forum already has "new" indicators in multiple places. They're controlled by the backend of the forum which has the distinct advantage of being able to check the forum's database for that information. Plugins on ProBoards are limited to what they can see on the current page because they operate exclusively through the use of client-side code run in the user's browser after loading the page. A plugin can't query the forum's database or pull information out of it and therefore can't do as comprehensive of a job obtaining information on which posts are new as well as any information relating to their corresponding threads (title, creation time, last reply author, last reply time, etc).
That's not to suggest a plugin can't make a respectable attempt at obtaining that information, but I don't think it's going to satisfy the expectations you might have for it.

This is something I would like to see as well. SMF and PhpBB boards both have an 'Unread Posts Since Last Visit' button or link. I think the function is cookie based, but I'm not technical enough to know fully how it works.
