I did that, but as I said only two forums appear there, the one I once posted in and the one I'm the moderator in. That e-mail address is the one that works, so I don't want to change it. The other one that needs changing doesn't appear in my global account. Yet my forums are linked to it. How is it possible? Hi, Do you have another email address you've used? What do you mean "your forums are linked to it"? The email that appears in your global account is the the one tied to the forum accounts that are under that global account.

I have only used the two e-mail addresses I gave you. I mean that my own forums aren´t under that e-mail address, the one in the global accounts. I think I erased them when I was trying to fix the initial problem of not being able to get in. How can I put them in a global account, either the one I have or a new one?

Thank you Michael. I do have issues... If I understood correctly, the first step to take in order to create again a deleted global account is this:
"While logged in to a forum, in the lower right corner of the browser window you will find the ProBoards User Bar. Clicking on the Switch User icon will take you to the Select Account screen where you can click on your account you would like to be logged in to of the current forum you are visiting."
I can´t see anywhere this switch user icon in my forum. On which page is it?

The Proboards user bar... I saw the icon in the instructions, but I don´t see it anywhere in Proboards. I have looked here proboards.com/account/forum, but there is no such icon there or under any of the menus...

Could it be that you have it minimized, like mine is in this screenshot? If so, just click that tiny arrow to expand it.

I have looked here proboards.com/account/forum, but there is no such icon there or under any of the menus... You will not find the ProBoards User Bar on the PB Dashboard (www.proboards.com) because there is no need for it there as the actions you take via the PB User Bar are all Dashboard functions. The PB User Bar should be visible when logged in to any of our forums.

OK, thanks, I got it, it was minimized indeed! However, step 3 says 'Enter the account username and temporary password of the unlinked account'. Does this mean that I should enter my forum with a new username, as a guest? Remember I need to change the e-mail address, since it doesn't work any more and be still the administrator.

hjordis, if you are at Step 3, this means you should be on the Select Account page. There you click the link for "Link another forum account." Then you enter the account username and temporary password of the unlinked account from Step 1.

Yes, I am on the select Account page all right. My question is whether I use another username that admin and whether I enter as a guest...

hjordis, unless I misunderstood, I assume you are moving forum account(s) from one global account to another? In the first part (step 1) you are unlinking the account from the 'old' global account and in doing so, you give each unlinked account a temporary password. Step 3 is linking the accounts to the new global account. At this point you should be signed in to the new global account and when you go to log in to a forum from which you unlinked an account you get the Select Account Page at which point you click the Link another forum account and then enter the username of the account you unlinked in step 1 and its associated temporary password. You can not assign a new username and must use whatever the username is you unlinked.

I'm sorry it's so hard for me to understand... I want to move my forums from an unlinked and erased global account to the global account I still have, but which is under another e-mail address. The e-mail address my forums have probably doesn't work right now, so I'm afraid that if I do something wrong I'll get shut off from my forums, that's why I'm being so cautious. I noticed it says that the e-mail must work, so there might be nothing to do at this point...
In a nutshell: I didn't unlink any accounts, I only erased the global account they were linked to, because nothing seemed to work and I wasn't aware that my e-mail wasn't working. So my forum accounts don't have a temporary password, that's why I didn't understand this part and what I had to do. The password is the one I have been using since my forum password got cracked and my forum contents erased. So, shall I use that one in order to try to link those forum accounts to that other global account with the other e-mail address?

So, shall I use that one in order to try to link those forum accounts to that other global account with the other e-mail address? To be able to link the account to your current global account you will need to know the current password to the account. If you don't know the password, or the email address currently attached to the account is no longer accessible, you may not be able to regain access to the account. If you can remember the password, then if you follow the previous steps and get to the Link Forum Account page, you need to enter the username of the account and the password, and it should link to your global account. If you get to that stage, and enter the username and password, does it link, or do you get an error message. If so, what is the error message you receive?

I do know the password, but as I said that e-mail address doesn't work, because I used it for the forum I'm a moderator in and now I got shut off and had to enter with my other address, as a new member.... So do you suggest I should still try? The other option is to wait it out until the web developer of mine has time to make a new website for me with the same e-mail........
