I know that many people are rediscovering great things like Family Game Night or using different board games to help with different skills for their kids. We have done the same at our house with the few board games we have.
I am curious what everyone's favorite Board game is and why.

We've always loved board games in our house and it's wonderful to hear that they're making a comeback during these dystopian times! We have to make the most of things.....We will NOT be BEATEN.
Our favourites are: Cards against Humanity, Humm Bug, Trivial Pursuit and Balderdash X

I'll leave the 'why' to your imagination. Not-so-much for family night, though.

I am a big fan of a short-lived board game: Key to the Kingdom. My oldest loves it. He's a fan of LIFE too.
My wife and I tend towards Scrabble, Rummy, 7Up, and Pitch.
We do a lot of BATTLESHIP and SORRY in our house as well as CHUTES AND LADDERS and CANDYLAND.
I would love to play Monopoly but few want to play with me.

I would love to play Monopoly but few want to play with me. It takes a lot of time to play Monopoly. I can't stay engaged that long. Why am I short of attention? Got a short little span of attention And, whoa, my nights are so long

I made a collage of most of the ones I enjoyed. A lot of good ones. Is DEAD END DRIVE similar to Clue? And Retread: I like games that can be long or short depending on everyone. I just wish more people could get engaged in Monopoly.

I'm the oddball who's never played Clue. 13 Dead End Drive was a murder-themed game. A woman died and there was a feud over her will. Players were able to use traps around her mansion to try to kill other players and hopefully claim ownership of the estate. From what I've heard, Clue was more about solving a mystery and not doing the killing.

I love chess or draughts (Checkers) but have not played with anyone for years, when the grandson (Kaiden) visits Liz & him will play snakes & ladders but he cheats like hell, he will climb the ladders and even the snakes tail and when he throws the dice and he thinks he is going to land on the snake's mouth he will count I more number to avoid the snake's mouth lol.

Back in the day, loved to play Avalon Hill war games. Unfortunately, it takes a couple of players and lots of hours.
Now it's Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble. We recently picked up a variety of board games from a local thrift store that look to have all their pieces. We'll be trying them out soon

We'll be trying them out soon Trivial Pursuit is one of those board games that used to be so popular, but seems to have slacked off since the early 2000s. We have one in our closet, but we never play it. Part of that is due to having way too small of kids to attempt, but I think the other part is that most people wouldn't know the answers now...if they did then. Google is more present now so why play the game?

I haven’t been playing board games during all of this, but my dungeons and dragons group are playing on Skype at least once a week. It would be nice to be playing in person and using our miniatures and maps in real life, but it works well and means we’re still socialising and that the campaign isn’t on hold for months.
When we play board games, it’s usually big strategy games with a few of our friends round to play. Not the kind of thing my husband and I would just play with each other.
