I have changed it back to what you have for this thread on the default theme. it is open the public. Must admit I have done some edits on the template and css. .container.posts .content { background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); border: 0px solid #ff0000;
^ This is overriding it. You've set the background for .container.posts .content to have a transparent bg and 0px wide border. .container.posts .content isn't an exclusionary target. it impacts any class of [content] within [container posts]. Since [content cap-bottom] is the class of [content] it is included in this despite the additional class of [cap-bottom].

I came up with a different way of doing it in the end. The css you found Kami, create a transparent background to each thread. Maybe not the best way to do it, but I couldn't get it working any other way. {if $[thread.id] == "575"} <div class="container board"> <div id="remind_title" class="title-bar"> <h2>Friendly Reminder!</h2> </div> <div id="remind_body" class="content cap-bottom"> When posting, ensure you have checked the number in the most recent post, then we have more chance of staying on track. </div> </div> {/if} /* Thread Reminder */ #remind_title { background: rgba(150, 150, 150, 0.6); border-top: 1px solid @container_outer_border_color; border-left: 1px solid @container_outer_border_color; border-right: 1px solid @container_outer_border_color; } #remind_body { background: rgba(150, 150, 150, 0.6); text-align: center; padding: 5px; }

The easier way to do this would probably be just add an additional class and override the CSS since there was no problem with the title area, just the content area.
class="content cap-bottom override"
css selector - .container.posts .content.cap-bottom.override
While your method isn't wrong (a little roundabout but sound), having an ID is unnecessary [you don't need to discern identical content] and you don't need to reiterate the part that was functioning.

Changed it over to using the class="content cap-bottom override", then customised it for each theme. Thanks Kami (:
