I am running into an issue where the background color for the Create Thread and Reply buttons are being overwritten somewhere. I have modified the stylesheet at line 447 to manually input a background color but is not reflected on the page after reloading. Oddly, in the preview editor, it shows that the background colors are updating, but on the actual page they are not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also tried as recommended to add that line of css to the bottom of the stylesheet in an effort to get css to overwrite whatever is causing this to happen but to no avail.

Hi sofakb If you supply a URL to your forum AND if the forum can be viewed by guests AND if the theme to which you are making changes is the same theme guests see when they view your forum, it will be possible for someone here to see your pages and the page source to determine if there is a problem in your style sheet, a plugin, or some coding in a header or footer.

Hi sofakb I haven't spotted anything that should affect the setting of the background color for those buttons. When I look at your forum style css file, I see this line: .container>.title-bar>.controls li a,.container>.title-bar>.controls li div{color:#ffffff;background-color:#004c97;background-image:url('//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/gradients/wave.png');background-attachment:scroll;background-repeat:repeat-x;background-position:left center;font:100% Verdana,Arial;height:30px;line-height:30px !important;padding:0 10px;}
That has the styling for those buttons using ProBoards stock settings. Let's try using the Visual Editor to make the desired changes first. If that doesn't work, we'll try a different approach.
From your Admin panel, navigate: Admin Home> Themes> Advanced Styles & CSS, remain on the Visual Editor tab. Make sure the desired theme is selected in the dropdown to the right of Current ThemeUnder the heading Forum, click on Body (Content) ... that section will expand. Click on Containers ... that section will expand. Click on Title Bars ... that section will expand. Click on Buttons ... that section will expand. Change the Background Color by by clicking on the input field to right of those words. A color chooser will appear. Adjust the color to your liking then click the OK button on the right of the chooser. The chooser will disappear. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom-left of the page or the Save Theme button near the top
Let me know if that gets you where you want to go. If not, we'll try a different method.

Well that would be the issue, I do have that color changed in the visual editor, however for some reason the control is grayed-out. Is this some sort of premium feature that has to be paid for?

however for some reason the control is grayed-out. Controls in the Visual Editor will be grayed-out if there is no element that is being controlled by that function in the preview pane (right side of the page in on a wide screen monitor or bottom of the page on a narrow screen monitor). Follow the steps I provided and make sure you navigate to a board or thread in the preview pane. Then when the Create Thread button or Reply button is on the page, the Buttons section will be active, not greyed. Also, you might need to use the scroll bar below the preview pane so you can see the button in the pane and watch the results as you change the background color.
