Ever feel this way? Say you get no sleep all of a sudden have an uncaring feel of I just want this 8 hour shift to be over. It's crazy because if I get 4 hours or so sleep I feel bad. But if I get no sleep I'm more thinking just get it over with.

I used to have my body trained to exist on no sleep for days at a time. I was going to college, working three jobs, and finding time to be social with friends. So I needed the time. I always found that a ten minute "zone out" was the equivalent of about 8 hours, so I could do this every day or so and feel refreshed.

Yes, messed up or lacking sleep can cause issues.
Generally a good idea to get about 8 hours of sleep, not 4.

My sleep pattern went haywire in my army days and tours of duty which was a 5-month tour of NI where the shifts were normally 4 hours off 4 hours on with the odd few days off here and there, go on a 4-hour patrol then your 4 hours off was to wash, eat & sleep.
And when I left the army and did security work, many a time I have done a 36-hour shift on the trot and before I retired I would rise at 04.30 every morning and my body alarm clock will not switch off and I always wake up around 4ish every morning, I tend to cat-nap a lot and can doze off sometimes with about 15 minutes kip.

Insufficient sleep can lead to numerous troubles, including but not limited to, werid misspellings. 😀
