I purchased an ad free subscription but I am seeing ads. This started yesterday (May 20).
What the heck is going on?

carswell, I see the subscription but it is not set to active. Go to Admin > Upgrades > Ad-Free, then check the box under Active.

I am not an administrator on that board.
I purchased the subscription on the 9th of May and the forum was ad free initially. Over the last couple of days I started seeing the Proboards COVID 19 notices and then today actual ads.

The administrator of the forum clicked on the ad free upgrade and the ads disappeared again but now they are back.
When I first purchased the subscription no one had to turn the function on, the entire board was suddenly ad free.
I do not understand the process here. When I purchased the subscription I thought that I was purchasing the subscription for myself, not the whole board. I don’t really care if everyone else benefits - but I don’t understand why an administrator would ultimately control something I am paying for.
Is it the board administrator the needs to hold the subscription for it to work properly?
edited to add: I don’t know if this matters - but I purchased the subscription through the link at the bottom of the pages - “Click here to remove banner ads through this forum” which appears to cover the forum itself and not individual members?
I see now that there is an option for personal ads free through the Gift tab in my profile.
This is secondary - but the reason I purchased the subscription in the first place is because the ads are interfering with my ability to post. They are causing the reply box to act glitchy, randomly preventing me from being able to type. I can’t sometimes get through by toggling back and forth between Preview and BBCode and sometimes not.
As soon as the ads began to reappear the posting issue started again.

I'm the admin of the forum. Is it possible that the forum ran thru 50,000 page views in less than two weeks?

Admin > Upgrades > Ad-Free > Settings > Remove Ads For Guests - No.

As a note: ads should not interfere with your ability to post. This support forum has ads as well, but it looks like you were able to post without problems, perhaps?
If that's the case, then it sounds like specific ads on the forum are triggering the issues, in which case I would use the "Report Ad" function at the bottom of the forum so that the PB team can look into potential causes.

To mention, which has not been stated yet, you had mentioned that you thought you were getting personal ad-free instead of giving the forum as a whole ad-free status. If you wish to pursue personal ad-free, that is done by going to your Profile and click the Gift tab there (no need to go into Edit Profile, it's not there). On that Gift tab, there's a button to Purchase ProBoards+ - that is the personal ad-free that will apply to all forums you go to under the same global account that made the purchase. But, it's just you who won't see the ads if the forum isn't currently ad-free.
