Forum URL: class1.freeforum.netI am a science teacher with six class periods. How can I set up groups? I'd like to be able to check responses of class 1, then class 2, class 3 and so forth at one time all under one discussion forum controlled by me. This will allow me to view and grade 1 class at a time. I am hoping that each group would also display as such when the group is selected: Class 4 35 members 4 have posted Class 6 32 members 31 have posted It would be productive to have a list of each member in the group: Class 5 30 members 27 have posted member name original post responses jsmith 1 4 Please advise if this is possible and if so how do I set it up?

Hi As you mentioned you are a teacher and this is for your class, i should point out that all members of the forum need to be 13 years or older. The forum should be able to do offer a set up like you described above. You can set up groups on your forum, say one for each class, and assign it to the relevant members. Creating and Managing GroupsAdding members to Group(s)You can set up boards on your forum, one for each class, and restrict access to the class you want to post and have access to that board. Creating and managing boardsWhen you create a board, look at the Permissions tab and you should see options for who can view, access, post. If you only want the a particular class to be able to access and post within the board, you will want to set the access permission. Select "custom" from the drop down menu and then for the And members in this group select the group you want to access. Another option you may want to enable is the Private Board option under the Settings tab. This will make it so that only the topic starter and staff members can see the topic. Hopefully that helps, but if you require further help, or clarification, let us know
