Why do you "feel" some members delete their forums over and over again? They are not staying away and always come back to Proboards with a new forum. Some members have had several on up to 20 forums or more. I have my own theories, but want to know yours?

I guess I didn't know they did.
I have been on mine for nearly 15 years in both cases...and probably similarly here.

Our finest ProBoards moment. I just wish we'd considered back then that people would still be reading the thread nearly 15 years later so that we didn't fill it with 'vintage' 2006 banter

Many people enjoy the actual building of a forum, the themes, the look, but not so much the actual running of one.
They get discouraged that they have only one member after a month, even though their forum concept is an already oversaturated genre.
They don't realize that the absolute BEST way to advertise their forum is to be an active member of General Talk, with the link to their forum in their signature, to make good, quality posts, to actively engage in the topic's made by others.

Also, they are discouraged because members that have repeatedly posted on their "many forums" will not come back or are not as active because they know their posts will eventually be deleted.

Why do you "feel" some members delete their forums over and over again? I can understand a forum owner deleting their forum once. But the repeated deleting and restoring of a forum escapes reason. I can't understand why these owners don't just use Maintenance Mode.

I can't understand why these owners don't just use Maintenance Mode. There are two owners in particular that delete over and over again. It's been suggested to put their forum in Maintenance Mode, but they still delete. I honestly think it's an emotional OCD issue or liking to make new forums because they get bored with their old forums. Most of us don't get it.

I honestly don't get it, It takes so much time setting a forum up. It baffles me how they manage it.

So I've "owned" several forums over my time on Proboards. A lot of these have been like wildmaven said and I enjoy the building of a forum. Others have been with as I grew and changed so did my interest. When I was younger I made a lot of the same types of forums (Coding and designing was hot then). My most recent form is the only one ive started in years, but I did so after looking for forums on the same topic and was displeased to find none really existed that were active. I may make more in the future because none of my hobbies or interest are similar. I also am starting to code, design and get more familiar with Proboards again and may either build new forums with what I make or just release themes for others to use. Or I may disappear all together, who knows?
