Forum URL: donthedgemebro.comGreetings. Was trying to do some research on proboards-provided image hosting solutions and keep coming up empty handed. Not sure if the search function is degraded on the support threads as well b/c I'm not finding what I need so I'd like to ask here Is there an additional service proboards provides to host images instead of using an external hosting source? I'd like for users just to be able to click an icon in their reply thread and upload an image directly from their local machine to the forum. I just get concerned that if an external site goes down, I'll lose my images--or, after x years they'll just be purged. I've been keeping my own local backups its just not efficient. Looking forward to ideas- thanks!! Jake

Hi,
The Attachment system is the default image system for the forum. You can purchase additional storage space in Admin>Upgrades>File Storage and then click Increase Storage under the Attachments section.

Thanks, I can see that now. I wasn't clear enough in my post-- I don't want the images to be attached though, looking for a solution where the images appear in the individual posts but there is a pro-boards interface to upload directly from local user machine into thread reply (not as an attachment).

Or, I should say not just as a tiny thumbnail...something that is more like the behavior when you use an external host (e.g. imgbb)
Thanks!!

Hi, What you're describing is exactly how the attachment system works. The images do appear in the post.

We will be making changes to the attachment system in the upcoming new version. However currently, yes, the attachments system does use thumbnails.

Not yet, but you can try out the Alpha by following the instructions here: support.proboards.com/thread/653546/proboards-v6-support-forum-alphaThe attachment changes are not currently in the Alpha but you may still want to check out other things we're working on.

I like the way it looks. Am I reading that correctly that v6 has been under dev for ~ 2 years?

dhmb22, If you use the Attachment system, you can also use the Forum Tooltips plugin that has the ability to enlarge an attachment image on mouseover (plus other features).

Hi. I think you're after the same sort of thing that I am .... ? Maybe this helps? A suggestion/guide to a plug-in for Chevereto; must admit, I've never heard of it before!
