It's amazing to think how quickly we've progressed in terms of technology over the last few decades. If you'd tried explaining cars to someone from an age before cars, you might be able to convince them it was within humanity's grasp to accomplish such a thing. Try explaining the Internet, 5G, smartphones, and Siri to that same person... It's easy to take it for granted since it's become such a vital part of most of our lives, but things like this bring back the wonder for me. This is so true, I think. Greek thinkers and Leonardo da Vinci would probably see a steam engine and grasp it very quickly. Electricity and radio technology, on the other hand, may seem like magic.
Even now, you'd be extremely hard pressed to have a random person explain those things to you. Hardly anyone knows how it works just that it does and modern society would collapse without it.
