It will happen at some point, to be clear.

For sure, it will break when v6 is released. The plus side is that the plugin creator has confirmed he intends to re-create the plugin for v6. But there's no 100% guarantee that it will be completed in the timeframe you desire.

The odds of this breaking even earlier are pretty high. If that does happen, you'll be out of luck. I would advise coming up with a back up plan on how to handle buying items.
