Currently, my site has two users: Admin and Jetsplit (who is also in the Administrators group). I was able to hide Admin from the list of members, but is it possible to fully transfer ownership privileges to Jetsplit and remove Admin from the site? As in, can Jetsplit essentially be the "Admin" account? After looking around the Support boards it sounds like it's possible to change the Display Name for Admin to Jetsplit and it's possible to transfer the Admin account to another user, but it's not possible to remove Admin from my site, is it?
I do understand that Admin still has additional options that other administrators don't have, such as the ability to create and manage custom pages, so I am not looking to remove Admin from my site unless I can transfer these owner privileges before doing so.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks in advance for the help! Without the root admin account (user ID of 1; username of admin) , there would be no forum - as they are tied together. Even if you did a transfer to your Jetsplit account, that account would end up with a username of admin. Why not just change the Display Name of the Admin account to Jetsplit?

Hey Lynx, thanks for answering a bunch of my questions yesterday! I appreciate your help. My main qualm with setting Admin's Display Name to Jetsplit was that, if I understand correctly, people looking to @ mention me would have to @ mention admin rather than Jetsplit. I was essentially wondering if I could have the exact same permissions as admin without having the username "admin". That said, admin and the forum itself are linked, as you mentioned. That's okay, I can stick with things the way they are and just have admin be hidden from the list of members. Thanks for your help!

what ive done on my forum is use the censored words list to replace the "obvious" tag with the real one. my display name is kami but my username is kaoru, so in the censored words list i have "@ kami" set to be replaced with "@ kaoru" (no spaces, of course); you can do the same to replace the jetsplit tag with the admin tag.
this way also, you won't need to have two accounts.

Tagging an ID automatically changes to the ID's display name if it is different. I have a member who deleted, then came back under the same ID but with a 1 at the end, thinking the ID couldn't be reused. They then changed the screen name, dropping the 1. When tagged, the ID including the 1 has to be used, but the screen name doesn't show the number 1 when the post is in the thread.

When tagged, the ID including the 1 has to be used, but the screen name doesn't show the number 1 when the post is in the thread. Let's not conflate an ID with a username. IDs are 100% unique, usernames can be reused. For clarity: - Display Names: can be edited, more than one user can have the same display name simultaneously - Usernames: cannot be edited. only one user can have a username at a time, but they can be reused once deleted. - User IDs: cannot be edited, cannot be duplicated. User IDs are incremented by 1 every time a new account is registered, so even if a username and display name is identical to a former member, the User ID will still be different.
