Hey, I'm currently adjusting the skin of a forum I'm working on, but I'm stumped with something: removing the bottom right widget that's default with proboard sites: " "
Thank you for your time.

I don't know that we're allowed to remove that [thinking emoji]. Tagging admins Michael Brian ScottI'm curious why you'd want to remove it. It allows users to access their global account dashboard, switch between accounts, and switch between the forums they visit in one convenient place. But all that said, if we are allowed to remove it, you'll need to add an !important to the css.

I'm curious why you'd want to remove it. I've seen some sites without it. The reason I'd like to remove them is they clash with my place's color pallette while other elements exist providing the functionality of each of the widget's buttons with compatible design built into the forum skin.

I suppose that's fair; I keep the bar collapsed by default, so I tend not to pay attention to it too much until I need it. Other sites not having it doesn't inherently mean that it's OK though; in theory you could force hide the PB branding & ads but that would be against the TOS. I don't think that this would fall under that, but I'm not certain, which is why I've pinged the admins to weigh in. Just to be on the safe side, I would hate to give you misleading information that leads to a TOS warning or something!

[...]force hide the PB branding & ads [...] Didn't think about it like that; would definitely be a dick move to erase the host's info. Thanks for tagging the admins on this one then. I'd imagine that it wouldn't be too much of an issue due to members still needing to create proboards accounts in order to use the site, but that's just hazarding a guess at best. While waiting on the arbiters to weigh in on this one issue I should probably start looking into another issue I'm trying to get a handle on. By any chance do you happen to know a good online community focusing on CSS coding? I'm trying to learn a solid foundation as to not need to reach out every time I try to modify something about a template.

Hi,
While there isn't anything TOS violating about removing the PBN bar I always try to steer people away from removing it as it does impact general functionality of the forums (switching profiles, switching forums, etc.)

NOXA - Yeah no worries! Looks like Michael has responded. If you really want to remove it still, target #pbn-bar-wrapper with the following: #pbn-bar-wrapper { display: none !important; } But I'd echo Michael's advice into not removing it, even if you have similar functionality elsewhere in the theme. Not everyone will be expecting that and it could negatively impact user experience.

Understood, thank you! I'm sure the problem won't occur; all the buttons present are clearly labeled elsewhere on the skin. However, I will keep my ear to the ground; should a complaint arise regarding the box I will re-instate it and instead maybe just try to change its color a bit.

Super fair! I've added similar buttons, myself, though I did keep the bar for ease of access to those who are expecting certain behaviours. Changing colours etc might be beneficial too (: As far as learning CSS, we'd be more than happy to answer general questions here (that was the main purpose of the board originally, though people tend to try and get specific help here more often than not). For forums dedicated to web dev, I can't think of any off the top of my head I'm afraid. Perhaps adoxagraphy.co would be a good place? But IDK their activity levels or how general dev oriented they are -- a lot of their content is specifically PB themes.

Oh, I see. I'll definitely be looking into that. Would centering an entire skin that is currently left-aligned to the page be a quick addition of modification to the css?

Unfortunately i can't answer that without seeing the theme itself. In theory could be quick but if there are extensive modifications it probably wouldn't be.
