Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for the feedback provided so far! Everyone here at ProBoards is hard at work on v6 and your feedback is invaluable to us. We can achieve so much when we all work together! I'm excited to announce that in order to help us get things done better and faster, we are collaborating with Kami to improve and overhaul some of our designs that you see in ProBoards v6 and across ProBoards as a whole. Kami has been a member of ProBoards for a long time, and has shown everyone on ProBoards what can be achieved with an innovative forum design, while remaining entirely familiar and accessible to everyone. Her expertise is invaluable, and we cannot wait to see what we can achieve together! You will see Kami across the v6 beta boards here, providing you with information or asking questions to help us focus on what matters to everyone the most - making sure the design of v6 is modern and accessible to everyone. Please don't PM Kami with v6-related question - the v6 beta board and especially the v6 Feedback board are dedicated areas for anything you might want to ask, discuss or provide feedback on.We truly appreciate her in assisting us as we move forwards with v6 beta and we hope you'll enjoy what we will be bringing to you in the near future!

DISCLAIMER: The following post is STRICTLY of my own opinion which may or may not be accurate. However, this is how I PERSONALLY feel. If you disagree with this, that is certainly your prerogative. However, please do not post a reply just to attack me and MY opinion. I am speaking SOLELY for myself and no one else. IMPORTANT: Any use of "we" or "us" found below is used to simply include those who may be in the same position as I am, such as not having access to closed beta and have no idea how things are progressing. If you do not fall into the context used, then it does not apply to you.
No offense, ProBoards, but the transparency you have promised seems to have disappeared again: Where we’re goingTransparency, trust, and a thank youI would like to take this opportunity to first thank everyone who has reached out to us offering assistance in many different ways and means. Your support and trust mean everything to us and we understand that we have broken our commitment to transparency by staying silent on the developments behind the scenes. Starting immediately, we will be providing everyone with regular updates, beginning with regular posts with information about v6 leading up to and beyond the release of v6. We also cannot forget our wonderful staff members on this Support forum, who have been helping us keep this forum a friendly, clean and organized place for everyone to enjoy while we focus on the behind-the-scenes work, especially in this time of a world crisis. We appreciate all of you! ProBoards: v6 PhoenixSource: support.proboards.com/thread/663070/whereThe most recent post I have found was January 25, 2021 at 8:55pm Eastern Time (the Source link I posted above). So, I must ask: Does approximately TWO times a YEAR qualify as "regular posts"? If it does, then fine. However, if that is the case, then perhaps you should clearly define your interpretation of "regular posts". Closed Beta testing has been ongoing for about FIVE MONTHS now. Not everyone is privileged to be a part of that closed testing, but is that a reason to keep the rest of us in the dark about how it is progressing? Even if it is not ready for Open Beta, why are the rest of us not being kept updated? Even a simple, "We have made progress and getting closer to Open Beta, but there is still no ETA for that." would let the rest of us know how you are progressing. For those who know me, I take promises made personally. If you break a promise to me, I consider that as lying to me. Yes, some are going to read that and think that it is far-fetched or too aggressive, but that is who I am. If my boyfriend makes a promise to me, then breaks that promise, I tell him that he lied to me right to his face. If you know who he is, just ask him - I will not tag him here. So, ProBoards, given the quote and my statements above, you are lying to me as far as I am concerned. You have admitted to breaking your commitment (aka promise) to transparency before and have stated that it will be corrected. However, after five months of no updates, you are ... again ... breaking your promise/commitment of transparency. Not just to me, but to anyone who feels the same way - especially those who are not in closed beta to be able to judge for themselves.
I suppose this post will get me into some serious trouble with ProBoards, but I am not known for "biting my tongue" for too long. I may get banned. I may receive a PM from a ProBoards Admin and get a warning. This post may get removed - but, if it does, then that tells me that I may be correct in my assumptions and they want to hide it from as many members as possible. I may receive all of the above, or even something else that I cannot think of. In any case, I felt that someone needed to bring this up. If I am the only one who feels this way, so be it - that just makes me more unique. I have saved this post to my computer. While ProBoards can remove it from here if they want, they will not be able to delete it from my computer. In closing: ProBoards - you have a great platform, you have excellent customer support - but, changes you make are not fully transparent. I have seen posts that have basically stated "ProBoards must have made some unannounced back-end changes" - which I have spotted mostly in the plugin support threads board, to which the plugin author would have to go in and make modifications because something used to work before silent back-end changes were made. Perhaps back-end update changes, which could conceivably include V6 updates - since that is back-end. Just a thought.

While I'm not part of ProBoards from a 'paid employee' perspective, I do want to say that I apologise for my part of lack of transparency on design content. I lost access to my computer & files for a while and only recently resolved this issue.
I expect to have some design updates early July 2021 (:
EDIT: For the record, I don't at all think you're out of line to call it out. While my tone of approach might have been different personally, I definitely understand the frustration (and have shared it with the PB team privately in the past). I don't think you are in the wrong here to hold PB accountable as an organisation for a commitment they made, and I seriously doubt that PB will hold it against you for doing so.

Hi Kittykat :), Thank you for the feedback! Let me begin my response by stating that we have never, and will never hold anyone's opinion against them, so please feel free to speak your mind and we will always try to address it. You do not have to worry about being banned or any reprecussions of any kind and your post will not be removed. As Kami has said, you are certainly not out of line - and I accept full responsibility for not posting more frequent updates. The reality is that I need to dedicate more time to this area. Unfortunately being a small team and having to coordinate everything together is far more time consuming than it might sound. Please don't take this as an excuse as it absolutely is a failure on my part, merely trying to provide some context for easier understanding. The latest available beta version is currently not only available on created forums, but also here on ProBoards Support. Any distinct updates would also be reflected here if and when they occur as well as noted on the Development Blog. As such there is no significant development other than bug fixes and functionality/usability changes at this time - the main priority of the test is figuring out issues in general use while v6 is in a v5-equivalent state. This includes things like post creation, basic admin management, and even forum creation itself, all of which are completely changed in v6 and thus available in a very limited capacity. With that said, behind the scenes we have been working on some rather large new functionality that will be coming to the beta very soon, including some features that have been brought into v5. In the past when we decided to add a feature, we made the mistake of announcing it too early (just like with v6), we are now being extremely cautious with announcements. We truly appreciate your thoughts and your feedback and know that you have not gone unheard. We will be posting the first of the brand new feature announcements in the last week of June (2 weeks from today), followed by several others in the weeks after that, culminating in the next phase of the beta test. I hope you'll find the features exciting, and I hope to hear your thoughts! Please feel free to PM me at any time in the future with any questions or thoughts. You are also welcome to post in the respective v6 boards, if you'd prefer a more public discussion. I am more than happy to answer any questions, or hear your feedback!

You do not have to worry about being banned or any reprecussions of any kind and your post will not be removed. First, I thank you for your response. I do try not to speak out too much as I can get to be a bit blunt in my posts, especially if I am feeling frustrated. In this case, the frustration was caused by not having any updates. I thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to compose this post. As Kami has said, you are certainly not out of line - and I accept full responsibility for not posting more frequent updates. The reality is that I need to dedicate more time to this area. Please don't take this as an excuse as it absolutely is a failure on my part, merely trying to provide some context for easier understanding. I do not see it as a failure. Given your statements, it would sound more like it (posting updates) is more of a low priority item. As a part of a small team, I can certainly understand your position. The latest available beta version is currently not only available on created forums, but also here on ProBoards Support. Any distinct updates would also be reflected here if and when they occur as well as noted on the Development Blog. Again, I thank you very much for taking the time to compose your post with the updates. I doubt that I will be doing much posting in regards to this, as I feel (which may or may not be accurate) that I have "disturbed the bee hive" and I would prefer to avoid "getting stung" as a result. Finally, I do apologize for the delay in responding here. I had no notification. I see that an attempt was made to tag me. Unfortunately, it was not I who was tagged. I also do not have the Participated button showing, so referring to that would not be helpful for me to know that there were new replies in the thread. I found out about the two posts after mine by someone else on another forum. I look forward to seeing what the ProBoards team has done for us in V6.

But I am partnered with PB as per this announcement (see the OP of this thread) to deliver v6 designs. A lack of v6 updates on this front is in fact my responsibility and I wanted to take ownership of that.
