Despite all the keto spam lately I have heard it working wonders for people but is a bit expensive. So I'm curious if members here have legit tried it before.

I’ve known a lot of people who have had great results with it but ALL OF THEM fell off of it and gained all the weight back because it’s hard to continue long term. In addition, it is very high in fat and cholesterol, can be very hard on the bowels, and is lacking in many important vitamins. It is also expensive, as you mentioned. To be honest, if one does not have the willpower to eat properly in the first place, they won’t have the willpower to follow this.

When you really deep dive the research, Keto actually sits near the top of the list as one of the most unhealthy diets. It’s a quick weight loss program people jump into without realizing the down sides on the back end of the lifestyle.
If you really want to loose weight and change your diet, pick up a book called “Wheat Belly” by Dr. William Davis and look up Wheat Belly on Facebook. I started the wheat free life style last March after reading his book and I’m down 60lbs (250>190). I have held it off with little to no exercise as well. It’s tough at first, because wheat really is an addiction, but once you get a few months into it, the idea of wheat based products is a thing of the past and the cravings actually disappear.
It’s pretty wild, really. Wheat belly isn’t suppose to be a diet, it’s suppose to be a life style change. So if you really want to loose weight healthily and keep it off, I’d really encourage you to look into it. The best part is, it’s not gimmicky like Keto is, it’s really just learning what you should be eating from the grocery store.
As an added bonus, do some research on the paleo life style as well. Mix it in with wheat belly, and you won’t look back. I’m walking proof that both wheat belly and paleo are a far healthier life style that is actually sustainable long term.

Hello, I'm new to this forum but I'm not here to spam or cause trouble. I'm passionate about healthy living, some might even say over zealous 😱, but I'm really just interested in having a sensible open discussion. You mentioned above that you think keto is expensive. That makes me think of two things: (1) what is keto in your eyes, and (2) why is it expensive?

Hi. I've been eating keto style since sept and I have gone from being diabetic to not diabetic. The thing is, there are 3 versions.... Lazy, dirty and strict. I am doing lazy, which in a nut shell means eating very little carbs and sugar. Yes you can still eat fats... But as long as you don't go mad, I cannot see how this lifestyle can be bad for you? It's about eating non processed foods... So fresh veg, meats and being aware of everything you are cooking. I personally have never felt better... 3 stone down, no longer diabetic, no longer have kidney issues and reduced body pain. I will never go back to my previous eating habits xx Hope this helps xx
