Some first-time registrants do not see the Welcome category

Not understanding nor can I find anything in the myriads of setting options, this one has me flummoxed. I had five try to register new accounts and two of them did not even see the Welcome category to read the post in the board "Required: Read This First!" for the agreement to terms. The other three did.

Why is this happening?

I am not seeing it either, when i registered. I see there should be two threads, but can not access them. Could you go in to your Categories and Boards under the Structure tab in your admin area.

Double click on the category to bring up the settings panel. Do you have it set to 'no' for Hidden and 'Everyone' can access it? If they are set to those, try changing them and then changing them back.

Brad, you have the Welcome category set for members and staff Except members in the group "New Member" - since you have newly registered members automatically added to this member group, they will not see the category.

OHHHHH! Oops. Moral of this story is, don't do this in the wee hours of the night when you are already sleep deprived.
