What book (or book series) have you read that made you think, Wow. That was a really good book. Maybe it left you in tears at the end. Maybe as soon as you finished you went back to start over. Maybe the characters and storyline stood out to you, or the writing style.
For me, it has to be Lord of the Rings. The characters were lovable and the places/settings felt very real. The story was creative, and the battles were intense and interesting. It's a very well written story.
What about y'all?

I mostly read nonfiction, but a few of my favorite novels/stories are:
A Confederacy of Dunces - Easily the funniest book I've ever read. I'm planning to start re-reading it in a week or so.
Harry Potter series - Currently re-reading for the fourth time; I'm on the last book now. The series is a lot darker and more depressing than I remember.
Stephen King's Dark Tower series - Read once, need to re-read sometime.
Aside from that, a couple Stephen King short stories stand out: "The Jaunt," "The Langoliers," and "The Long Walk" are a few personal favorites. And Pet Sematary is another great full-length novel by King.

I have so many books that are my favorites or what I call my 'comfort reads' that if I listed them I would bore you. But if you belong to GoodReads you can look me up there!

I still love all my childhood books by the amazing Enid Blyton. I also love the Harry Potty series by J.K. Rowling and pretty much everything that has been written by Dan Brown. My favorites by him are The Da Vinci Code and Deception Point. Lately I've also loved reading the books by Michelle Harrison. She's a fantastic writer and I'm enjoying the novels featuring the Widdeshins sisters. Her latest book A Tangle of Spells was just delightful.

I'm like Dianne. I have a ton of books and I'm not sure I could list favorites, especially since the list changes as I add new ones.

I'll join Dianne and HoudiniDerek in their responses. I have been reading books voraciously since I was but a wee bairn (I am an old man now!) and it would be next to impossible to list favorites; instead, I will list my Top Ten favorite authors and that should give you an idea of what I like.

Uglies Series is a favorite of mine. I just think this series was really cool. Harry Potter Series who doesn't want to have magic? I have a lot more but my brain just went elsewhere.
