Hi everyone, I am led to understand that there are people on here who keep axolotls and hoping they might be able to help?
I thought my axolotl was dead. He keeps floating near the top of the tank, slightly on his side? His tail is slightly curled and so is his gills? One minute he is like this, but then swims down, then floats back up again?
He has always play floated, but this seems different. I have checked the water, which is fine. The temperature is also fine. He is still eating, but he doesn't seem right.
I've read about putting them in the fridge, but it says last measures? How do I know when this is?
I just don't want to lose him. I have googled so many things... All the obvious signs show some sort of stress, but his environment has not changed and I have checked everything.
Can anyone please help? I wanted to add a picture but was unsure how x

Hello and welcome to ProBoards Support. I hope that your pet is fine, but unfortunately, this forum primarily discusses ProBoards software, and not exotic pets. I would encourage you to visit a forum and/or support group that is geared towards the type of help you need.
Maybe you can try this forum:
Maybe you can also call a vet or pet store. I hope you and your pet have a safe weekend. Best of luck.
