Waiting to get approved. Why so long?

Hello,

I am a long time user who recently went insane and deleted all my posts, thousands, and my account. I currently have a splint on my finger and decided to return.  How come it's taking so long?

Is this in regards to a forum that requires staff approval before you can access the account?

Each forum has it's own process for approving new members, or staff with approval power may not visit the forum regularly. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to assist, sorry!

Our admin, Kevin, had not been heard from for a very long time. It was my understanding Sigurdur had his email and I could contact him to inquire but it's been coming up on over 1 week I believe and still no approval.

nwcodetalker, as you stated the admin has not been logged into the forum for quite some time. As such there is no one to approve new memberships. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do at this time to assist in regaining an active account. I am sorry I am unable to offer a more favorable response.

Can ownership be transferred?  Or can the thread be transferred over to a new admin?

All user-deleted data, including accounts, are deleted permanently . I'm really sorry that you've regretted your actions, but unfortunately I think you're out of luck on this one -- it doesn't look like folks are active, and content is only restored in the event of a software / technical malfunction which doesn't cover a regretted choice of action.

Just curious, your response indicates my data was not deleted, rather it just is not viewable and is held in a backup server, so in essence when someone wishes to be deleted it's only lip service provided?  How does this align with data privacy laws in the EU? Is Pro-Boards in compliance with EU regulations?

Myself and others on the board have been attempting to contact Kevin with no luck. Can Proboards contact him? There has even been discussion raised not by myself but by others on the board about purchasing the board from Kevin but without him any talk is worthless, we can't even propose such an arrangement. Do you have any suggestions or are we just the proverbial soiled litter box with no responsible party to clean it out?

That latter, I'm afraid. Unless the TOS is being violated (which an absentee admin does not qualify as) or unless there's some pertinent company-related information that needs to be delivered, PB doesn't reach out to forum admins or interfere in the way they choose to run (or not run, as the case is here) their forum.

What is this linking of accounts?  If I am on another board am I able to link accounts and post on the solar board?
