Kami That’s why I opened it up here to get a feel of what other members thought of it before going further. sneer We will agree to disagree ‘cos as I said, there are some forums dedicated to post exchanges & the people like them. Individual choice.

Individual choice. Super fair -- I don't know you'll get much response just from an activity level standpoint, though, just to levelset expectations. For whatever it's worth, if you think your idea is good, I don't think it's necessary to wait for anyone else's opinions before approaching the mods. The target audience for such an exchange are generally people who exclusively post in the advert board, so it's unlikely you'll get them posting here + the mods tend to have a better bird's-eye view of the community sentiments at large due to their roles. EDIT: This is not to discourage a discussion, but rather, that I don't think you have to wait for the outcome in order to reach out -- I think it's a good discussion to have on its merits alone (:

What do you think about Post Exchanges? They're completely unattractive to me. I prefer quality over quantity. If I post on someone else's forum I want to do so because I feel I have something useful to add to the conversation, not because I'm obligated to because of an exchange agreement. If someone else posts on my forum, I want them to do so because they feel they have something useful to add to the conversation, not because they are obligated to because of an exchange agreement. Awareness of other forums = good. Posting for the purpose of adding to a conversation = good. The freedom to come or go as one pleases = good. Posting solely for the sake of living up to an agreement = bad. YMMV.

What do you think about Post Exchanges? It's on some forums. I personally like Active Post Exchanges. Meaning it's not just a one-time deal. I don't need a high member count. The reason I like active members (even if it's every month or two) is 'cos I like conversing back & forth. When somebody doesn't come back, it's hard to have any discussions going. I like when people treat it as becoming friends not as a job. I’m a fan of post exchanges. I see the value of agreement of Active Post Exchanges however, it’s not sustainable long term for me personally because life happens and I hate putting myself in a position to commit when not able to follow through. This is why I don’t agree to daily exchange no matter how small. I participate in post exchanges outside of proboards support, I don’t see those as artificial because at the end of the day those are still new posts made by a real live person on the other side of the screen. Sure they may not stick around long term but what they post may stir up conversation within the community or heck it might even give people the reason to sign up and/or stay.
