How would you handle feeling bullied on a forum or social media network? Leave? Seek revenge? Report it? Seems hard at times when I hear kids getting bullied and I never grew up with social media as a kid. I don't know what to tell them as an adult.

I learned to have a mental thicker bone when it comes to cyber bullying although it's not something to be taken lightly you got to ask how bad will it really affect you as a human. Now if it leads to cyber stalking or harassment that's a different story. Honestly going back and forth with someone online you don't even know is a waste of time, it's a bit different if you actually know them.
Friendships can be acquired online but really do be careful what you say. If it ain't worth worrying over don't worry.

I don't think I would leave or seek revenge but I would report it, other than that a good old plain ignore works wonders, I am an Admin on a Facebook Forum and if I saw any of that or had a complaint from a member then the perpetrator would be automatically banned from my Forum, If they came back under another name then I would report them to the appropriate sources. If it was one of our oldest grandsons getting bullied then I know for a fact our son & daughter would act by taking them away from wherever they were getting bullied and tell them not to go back on that Forum.

Seems hard at times when I hear kids getting bullied and I never grew up with social media as a kid. I don't know what to tell them as an adult. Every case is different and it's important to recognize whether it's actually bullying, or something different like a strong difference of opinion or just opportunistic humor. What to tell a kid who feels they have been bullied? Tell them to have a responsible adult view and assess the situation in-context. If the replies were personal and malicious, have the individual (or the responsible adult) report the replies. Seeking 'revenge' through hostile responses is not likely to end well.

Some states have cyberbullying laws. Something to look into.

If youโre feeling bullied on a forum or professional platform, chances are there are already existing methods in their rules on how to address the issue. The worst thing you can do is continue to engage the individual, as that just gives them the attention they seek.
