Hi, I'm a member of this forum which was originally created to discuss gay-themed storylines in the daytime American soaps. Over the years it has broadened out to cover all TV shows and movies worldwide that fit that criteria. It was created (I think) by someone known as GayTime who was the original administrator of the board with help from another member called Bonobochick. Later some other members were given admin privileges too.
Unfortunately it looks very much like GayTime and all the other staff have abandoned the board since no mods or admin have been online in over a year; most of them not for quite a few years before that if the board stat is correct.
This board is still a valuable source for info and chat for many of us and a few of us who have great affection for this community are hoping we will be able to continue to keep it alive and thriving. The forum has become a bit glitchy with many parts not working correctly, eg: the search function has become very hit and miss and various member stats are sometimes incorrect (last week my own stats said I last visited the forum in 2013 even though I pop in daily). The board also needs rearranging with obsolete announcements and old out-of-date pinned topics removed.
I've been on TGODT since 2011 and I care about it. A few others are also keen to keep the community healthy and ongoing. We have tried to contact the various admin staff via various forms of social media but without much success. Bonobochick did initially reply to a fellow member (via tumblr I think) but she has since failed to reply to any further messages. I did manage to contact another member tihkon2 who was a global Mod but he said he'd relinquished his role "years ago". As he was still down as staff he did offer to upgrade my privileges if he was able to do so but it appears that level of access was no longer available to him.
If none of the present staff are wanting to continue I was wondering if there is any way for me (or another active user) to be 'promoted' so we can have someone who would be able to implement the changes and tidy up the threads. The board runs pretty smoothly otherwise and doesn't suffer from any behaviour problems etc, so it is really just so we can do any necessary maintenance to keep the forum running without difficulty.
There are a handful of members who would be prepared to take on a Mod role if that is required. If not, maybe we could just remain standard members but with 'enhanced privileges' to allow us to make the above types of changes? I'm not sure how it works on pro boards.
