Forum URL: (private) Good day. Tried pointing CNAME as directed, would not pass the verification. Changed DNS servers to ns.proboards.com and ns2.proboards.com , passed verification, activated the custom domain feature including payment, but it's now giving a 403 error message when I enter the URL. Currently down hard. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I think you're using the www. address, correct? Your forum is working using the non-www address.
I think you can add an A record to your domain so that the www version of the address will work as well, consult your domain registrars help guides for specific instructions for your service.

Hi, I'm trying both ways, nothing seems to work on my end. I changed godaddy to use ns.proboards.com DNS servers, hence I no longer have ability to add A nor CNAME records to cover www nor similar. I checked and I believe the godaddy change has propagated already. Can you pls DM me with the exact URL you are typing where you can see the forum up. Thanks

I do suggest using the CNAME method as it solves the issue with www addresses.

Changed my DNS server back to use godaddy's, and added the CNAME records as instructed.
Since I cannot reach my site at all , I can't go back and reset the custom domain setting, not sure if it's even needed at this point but nevertheless it's still not working.
Currently getting the same message, either "forbidden" or "unexpectedly closed the connection", 2 different browsers, even when I flushdns.
Thanks

Hi,
Looks like it's working again now. Your ProBoards default domain is also working.

Sorry still not working on my end, have tried from my laptop Win10/iphone/android, flushed DNS on OS and browser (Chrome), etc.
Can you pls PM me the exact URL you're using to get to the site? Also, can you check my DNS records, CNAME, etc. on godaddy to make sure I'm doing this right.
Thanks

Sometimes when you switch your domain, you'll keep erroneously loading inaccessibility errors.

No joy, friend tried (Firefox on Ubuntu) and cannot reach the page. DNS redirect is attempted but either no page or forbidden. Something is not functioning right.

Sit tight for a PB admin to assist during business hours (9am to 5pm pacific / -8GMT, M-F; for context it's 7:21 am for them at the time of this post). Note that PB admins cannot see your domain registrar settings — you will have to convey them to PB yourself and PB admins can guide any corrections that may be necessary, but only you have access to those settings. I recommend holding on providing that info until asked by a PB admin, though, as I am not sure what kind of potentially personal information may also appear in these settings.

No, DNS was and continues to be hosted at godaddy. Never used cloudflare.

No, DNS was and continues to be hosted at godaddy. Never used cloudflare. How do you currently have the domain set up then? It's back to no longer working so something keeps changing back and forth.

Ive never seen it work, and have not made any DNS changes since early this am ET.
Can u provide the CNAME entries that are needed and what they should point to via PM. Also can you pls look at my DNS entries via nslookup and let me know your thoughts.
Note that when I followed instructions for CNAME setup originally the proboards custom domain process would not pass verification.
Thanks

Hi,
It looks like nothing is setup at all at the moment. I have reset your forum URL to the default URL.
GoDaddy does not support CNAME flattening. You will need to use the CNAME through Cloudflare method. Follow the instructions exactly as provided on the page and let us know if you have any issues.
